So far all I find is coupes,.. and the one I did find the gas tank sticks out way too far... I know about the dagels kit,... but wonder why they have it out soo far... I tryed to call to see why??? but no answer.... maybe buy the kit and mod it??? or is there some reason that it can't be shoved in more???? looks like they sell you the coupe kit and don't have enough call for a sedan??? any way, I own a fab shop... but the shop time would be x3 or 4 to start from scratch,... you get the whole kit for around $1300, that includes the tank and every thing included... their kit has the filler neck out about 6 or 8 " judging from the only pic I found...

    That's my green '28.
    It is a Daigel's kit.
It did not fit as well as I had hoped but, I didn't want the tank to take up the back seat or use the stock tank due to me using a '32 dash. It works just fine and is a larger tank than the stock '32 tank.
I like the fit of the first pic in HRP response much better as well as the entire car. My favorite. :)

Thank you. Much appreciated. It is a fun car to drive and I enjoy it a lot.
It's a build me and my best friend Paul put together in my garage.
I no longer have the rear bumper on it. Only reason I wanted on was for tank protection but without better support for it, it kinda flopped up and down while driving.
Like I mentioned, I was not overly thrilled with the fit of the tank. There is nothing more I can do to tuck it further in as you are limited to the frame extensions and where they weld to the A frame. The tank does what I wanted it to do and I'm Ok with that. Dagel told me for some reason they fit better on the coupes?
On another A roadster I had, I used those saddle tanks. Problem with those is filling as there is one on each side. A bit of a pain. I like the '32 tank much better. 28 tudor 004a.jpg

  14. [QUOTE="2FORCEFULL,
[IMG]so, here's an off beat question..... would a 32 hood fit,... or still be too short????

If I had kept going on this one, it would have been a combination of model A and 32 cut and welded together to make it. So basically, you have to make it.

what I did was order just the frame horns, that way I can fab up the rest with the tank pushed in a far as it will go, I think the dagel frame with the cross beam is making the tank stick out,... the coupe body is farther away from the rear end then the CDAN...

as you can see,... the dagel tank kit needs to be different for the CDAN... the coupe body sticks out almost to the tip of the fenders...

I ordered the tank and frame horns... but didn't get them yet... but I did measure... mine is 16'' from the cross member to the body.... but I also have shocks there... so that shortens it up to 12''..... tank is 17'' so I could mount it with only 5'' sticking out... but I could also move the shocks to the other side if needed...

I own a chassis fab shop with a plasma table where all I have to do is say... mount this tank as far in as it will go.....lol... being 70 does have some benefits....

Way back, John at TANKS, made a pair of saddle tanks that went under the 2 splash aprons.

I had those on a Model A before.... here's how it goes you go some where and the one side gets low... so you switch over, and first station you see you stop and fill that side up... little father down the road the other side is getting low so fist station you have to stop and fill up and so on and on.... seems like they were only 7 maybe 8 gals.... so any performace motor , lucky to get 10 mpg,... so getting gas every 40 miles or so... big P.I.T.A.

Clone the installation from the burgundy sedan. It's pushed in tight and uses the 32 frame horn covers and taillights. Perfect.

Sitting at the cross roads.....one thing for sure...the fire wall gas tank is going bye bye....Pretty much sure that I escaped death with the big engine fire I had, and got very lucky...Soooo... what to do and how, is where I'm at...I ordered all the parts to do the 32 tank in a model A... got the tank, frame horns , spreader bar and such.... there's a lot of opinions floating around here... which I personally like as it gets options out there before you do something,... and can't turn back...

I spent a good amount of time staring at the tank hanging off the back of my model A....not sold on the plan at all...and sitting there on a 5 gallon bucket.... all I can think is there has to be something better.. my direction of build on this model A was to build a weekend racer that a guy drove back and forth to work in the fifty's... took a lot of stuff off to give it the Ol Hot Rod look. .one of the first things to go was the bumpers....and the clothes hamper trunk on the back... I personally like the clean look of a C-dan with nothing back there...

So,... I'm not gonna start Fabing, cutting anything that will make me wish I never did it when I'm done

Being it's a Cdan.... there's tons of room In the back seat area...I was thinking, and again just a thought...
why not put the tank under the back seat and french it down a little to where it hangs lower than the floor??? I would have to cut a round hole in the back corner for the filler tube... , kinda like a pick truck..
or fab up a fuel door in the back somewhere.. I'd like to do it where there's no paint work involved on the body...

so sitting on the cross rad bucket, here's where I'm at... I'm gonna start with removing the rear seat and rear floor board,... some thing that I was gonna do even if I use the 32 tank...

So... flame away.... gimmie some Ideas and dirrection here....what would you do????

here's the back of the car...but as of now, the bumpers and frame horns are gone...if you look at the bottom of the body,... theres a about 4'' skirt bolted to the bottom of the body... guess I never paid attention, but I've never seen this piece on any model A.. I used to own a hotrod paint shop,.. painted many model A's ,... all where hot rods that showed up in pieces... never seen this skirt piece ????
