I posted this to Banit Billys Yeah its got a Hemi, he posted some time ago, just so's you know the Reper ain't got me yet.... Not much to say on subject, just looking for a place to jump back in with the old crowd for some good reading. Been quite a while since I was around, still reads and looks good around these parts. Been taking in the big show down in LA on Utube and here and getting the "juices" all rilled up in these 85 year old bones again. My 34 awaits my retrun out in the shop, I guess I need to go say hi and see to it that it starts. I have an offer on it for when I should decide to let it go, but, that time isn't here yet. Offer is in excess of 35K because of it's, Northern star history.
What’s it been in the shop for? I recall you having transmission issues, but never heard of it was resolved.
Great to see you back, Larry. Hope all is well, and you get to take the coupe out for some fun this year.
"What’s] it been in the shop for? Short answer: Western Washinton nasty wet dreary dark winter weather. Sorry on the tranny. Answer is yes after the second time at the rebuilder finally relented on fixing it right like he should of the first time. Wash. law forbids fender less highboys on the roads in the rain. Thanks for asking. B36.
Ahhh, your shop. Good deal. Hey, if it’s time to let it go, it’s time. If not, no reason to save it for the next person. What’s the saying? Smiles and miles?
Hey Larry! Good to hear from you...been awhile. I've been thinking about you and that killer coupe lately. I've been looking at coups and you and yours have been on my mind. Glad your back...now don't leave!
Naw, I ain't go'n no place, in fact I been think'n about taken it back to the Northern Star. That would keep me out of trouble for what time is left to me and then some. I got good help though, still and it might not get finished before I move on to that bigger Shop elsewhere, but My brother and My bud, Jim would get-er-done. I posted way back in the day what that would take but don't remember now when and where it would be but it would need at least a new 34 frame and maybe boxing, fenders, front and rear crossmembers, paint and upholstery other miscellaneous stuff like Lincoln hubcaps and things hard to find today. The frame is boxed now and safe, the rear crossmember is "kicked" 4-1/2" because of the Jag rear end and would need to be replaced with a normal auto rear end installed along with all new front end, as all suspension is chromed e-type independent jag suspension This is the Northern Star as featured in Hot ROD mag. of Nov. '58 My car in the Avatar, as I made it after finding it a a mess West Seattle.
If you did that Larry, you would be my Hero .The original is on my top 5 cars of all time. If you do it, I'll donate a set of Lincoln hubcaps..
With my sudden re-intrusion back here, it comes to mind that since many here now, may may not know of the history of behind the black critter to the left I should at least put up some shots of from when it was first built in the mid50'sto when I finished my whittling on it. .................................................................................................................................................... Mid 50's into around mid 70's owned and shown thought-out PNW and in many magazines. This is Jerry Berg creator of the Star at 21 years old, whom I was able to contact and came over many times with his son and grand son when I was doing my thing in my shop with what used to his. He approved saying I most likley saved it from the crusher. The last time he he had see it, was at the Monroe swap meet, still in the Sebastian quad headlight pitiful dondition with the blower missing. .................................................................................................................................................. 70's through 80's?Sold to professional car show promoter, Ben Sebastian who put in the blower and the Jag suspension and full tilt front end, and oh yeah that wonderfully looking quad headlight front end. Before I found it in the Car trader while working at Boeing as a Engineer it was sold three different times and was in pretty rough shape but not to bad. That was in 1995. ..................................................................................................... This was Jerry when he and Eirik his son came over one afternoon.
