Sure does, but I expected you to gig me on my fastener on the shifter, that's why I added a disclaimer! Lmfao!

Proud to say my truck starts with the switch and it's running off the tank now. I didn't take any pictures, if I was gonna lie about something it would be this lol. Need to get some cable to run to the back of the truck so I can finish the battery deal. Where's the best place to buy battery cable or welding lead? Amazon?

I usually just go to NAPA for cable, shrink tube and crimps ends.

When I was getting ready to do the battery cables on my truck, I stumbled into a set of new in the box "0" 20' long copper strand jumper cables on sale for $27! Couldn't even buy a single 20' long "O" copper strand wire for that price, and I got two of them, one with red insolation and the other black. Bought the crimp ends and I was set. I figured I was just at the right place at the right time.

I'm feeling ya Gene, I'm gonna do the same thing, harbor freight has the jumper cables cheaper than you can buy stranded cable for. I'm gonna swing by there in the morning.

Just be sure those HF jumper cables are really copper strand and not aluminum strand. Aluminum may not be able to take the load for long term. Also be sure of the cable size, a #4 is pretty small if its a long run (over 6' long, its even worse if its aluminum), its OK on jumpers that are only used for a short time occasionally, but everyday might be a problem.

I got nothing against saving some money, as long as it can get the job done, my fellow cheapskate. :D

  12. I’ve been known to buy jumper cables and cut them up for battery cables. The first time I did this, I thought I was a genius. Like Wylie E Coyote genius!

They have 2/0 in stock, no 1/0. I've used 4/0 on model A's before. I'm not really cheap, just poor lol. I'm different than most guys, I build to drive, not to just go in the garage and work on em lol... if I have to do something against popular decision to get my shit on the road, then that's what I do. I've been told many times that I can't do something, by guys that never drive their car anywhere lmao!

Hey big guy, I go to tractor supply and buy the trailer wiring harness for $15! Gets me 4 wires, 20' of 16g, brown, yellow, green, and white! Makes for the perfect taillight harness ;) I know how to make shit work in my favor :D

I would be a bit apprehensive on the HF cables. To be safe I would probably take Alan up on his generous offer!

Hey I put a want ad up, but I need the gauges to fill the holes in my dash. My gauges are so rusty that they're illegible. Spread the word.

The jumper cable deal is a great idea if they are stranded copper. Never thought O that one. Been looking at cables myself. I'll drive it someday:(

I'll see what they say on the package, Alan is a good man, I just don't wanna wait, gotta move while inspiration is in the air lol. If those cables are CCA, I'll run over to tractor supply and get some welding cable ;)

How do feel about white face with red needles? I have set (oil, temp and volt) I pulled and will never use. Their not high dollar but worked good when removed.

I'm talking about the factory gauges, one is the speedo, and the other has oil, temp, amps, and fuel. Both are like 5" diameter. Is that what you're talking about Johnny?

Thanks Jerry, and your XL shirt is still behind the seat of my truck. I have no excuse for not sending them, I'll do that this week.

Jerry reminded me about the shirts, I recieved a check from you but I ripped it up, I'll get your shirt in the mail this week. My mind has been in another place for a while.

  29. Oh yes, I’ve done that too. We have 7 way trailer cord at work for tractor trailers and I’ve used that too for truck wiring. If it is a dumb idea and it works, then it’s not a dumb idea.

With what has happened in your life recently I'm not surprised that you didn't get the shirts sent and I wasn't going to say anything about it.
