I look forward to it every year, it's my vacation. My room is already booked at the Courtyard Marriott across from the Sloan center. Hope to see a bunch of guys from here this year! I'll have the old blue truck there! 20240125_180947.jpg

Never been but would sure like to make it some year. Great event, beautiful part of the country too.
BTW, I gotta say I really like your truck's stance. It's perfect. And once you get the stance right, the rest of it falls right into place. It's bitchin', hope we see more of it.

  3. IMG_1084.jpeg Little Truckdoctor and I will be there and staying in the same hotel as Lloyd. I gotta get my ass in gear and start working on Old Blue. He’s due for a good road trip. Now, I have to pull the pan and check the rod bearing clearances. I don’t have time to get the newer drivetrain installed, so the 216 will have to take us down there and bring us home! 5. I looked at the Show and Shine entry form earlier today.
I know this is a fund raiser for the NHRA Museum, but I was a little shocked at the $90 entry fee.

Are you fellas referring to the NMCA event ?

What Show and Shine tickets are you referring to ?

I clicked on some various event tickets and they come up as not available yet.

Yeah it went up again, but $90 gets 2 passes, car in the show, drag racing, swap meet, for all 3 days. That's $15 a day for 2 people. I don't go to beaches or pigeon forge, so it's still cheap for me.

I'll be there lord willing and the creeks don't rise. I think $95 ($5 processing fee whatever the hell that is) is a little salty too. Anyone remember what we paid last year? It's still a great event even at that price. Way the hell better than a Goodguys or NSRA event.

I believe it was $75 last year, $65 the year before iirc. Yeah it's so much more than just a car show! Hell I enjoy the night life part of it :D

You guys must not like drag racing, just car show people. Cost more than that to go to an NHRA big show. Guess I wasn't thinking that you guys just wanna car show.

I'm thinking I might make it. Probably not in the Willys though. I'll be sure to buy a stack of old magazines from Enloe.

Met you there 2-3 years ago, Lloyd. A friend and I might go again this year. I am also thinking about Lloydfest- It's quite a haul for me in Mi though. We'll see....

  25. This event should be a bucket list deal for anyone who digs fast and great old classic vehicles. Best show on the east coast by far. Great nostalgia drag racing and a car show to boot. Definitely not a folding chair cruise in. I’m booked at the Hilton Garden Inn next door to you guys. Plans are not concrete, but I’ve got my fingers crossed we make it.

I told ya what I'd do man, throw it on a trailer and unload it at the hotel!! Drive it back and forth to Beech Bend park :D:cool:

  30. That may happen yet. I’d really like to drive it down, I’ve been reading all of everyone’s road trip stories, and feel like I’m missing out. Come hell or high water, we will be there! The trailer and Silverado will be our backup plan.
