Not to rub it in to my friends up north, but winter here in Sarasota doesn't suck. This a Red Silk Cotton tree just around the corner from our place. Makes a good backdrop for the blue roadster, don'cha think? 78DD175D-9ED4-4FBA-BD3E-592B7D4930BE.jpeg 60FAA048-1DBC-46E6-B26C-288F73D84A65.jpeg E0FC7B10-FF31-4959-BCF0-E2E61AD7C2A2.jpeg E45FE381-A70F-4FA5-8F3B-44BB40F70156.jpeg

  3. Let me see: not to rub it in. If it feels like a rub, sounds like a rub, smells like a rub, then could it possibly be a rub? LOL. Glad you're making the best of a sorry season. :)

Winter is bad? Only to people who can’t handle the cold? :)
When else can I fix all the stuff I broke last summer?

Not a thing wrong with striving for and achieving a certain level of financial comfort.
I guess some people should have held the bar a little higher for themselves, I do get tired of always hearing the same people saying I'm too cheap, I never buy new stuff, etc.
For every time I get caught in a rainstorm here in the PNW (this morning) some poor sucker is either shoveling out of six feet of snow or boarding up for a hurricane.
It's one way or the other eh' Brian!

And just think, come June thru September (maybe even more), you'll be living in liquefied air. Humidity so thick that you'll go from your air conditioned garage to your air conditioned house and change your clothes because it'll feel like you went swimming, but without cooling off...

Yeah, we get humid days up here. About 2 weeks worth total that are the 4 Hs: hazy hot humid and horrible. And we bitch about it. Oh well what can I say, we all have our bridges to bear, our crosses to bridge, our butts to bare... well some combination of a few of those words.

  12. Well it feels like 24 and steadily dropping at 4 pm, overcast gray and gloomy skies like always, snowing and a wind advisory rolling in, so funnel some of that summer up here man.

Actually only kidding. I know you feel a little frisky there flynBbrian with that nice stuff all around you, weather I beilive it is called, because my 11 years in Phoneix sure had me on high these months when my wife and I wintered there. For me this has been a long shitty life indoors after that.

Just around the corner from us, on Bayshore Dr., just a block from the Ringling Art Museum. Our neighborhood has very diverse architecture, from contemporary, to the original Spanish mansions, MCM, Florida bungalows, and ostentatious faux Mediterranean mansions. It's not boring.;)

We're in Michigan in summer, so we miss the heat and humidity here.

Hell it was gorgeous out yesterday here, sunny and 72* but today it’s dropping into the 20’s and rain with a mix of snow:rolleyes:

Once you get past the staggering cost of housing, property values are astronomical and rent is ridiculous, I don't see a difference between here and Michigan for everyday stuff. Gas is the same, there's no income tax (property tax makes up for that it seems). If we could get the Amazon truck to stop coming here and leaving stuff, it would be great...

  25. Great image Brian. Living in Carolina we often get to experience the four seasons in a matter of days. Enjoy your days.

Thank you. I was surprised at the negative comments from some others about the climate here, my having a car to enjoy (that I built on a budget) and the fact that we're down here for winters rather than staying in Michigan, as if everyone should be poor and miserable. I appreciate it.

  27. Used to be before all the Northeast and California folks invaded…

  28. We spend 2 weeks there in the Summer..I’ve worn long sleeve T shirts at night…it’s beautiful..trade it for Michigan any day
