Maybe I'm becoming OCD, but they either someone relocated cylinders or those rods are not back in their original holes. That would make crazy. I'd have to re-number them. But, this is why I can barely get by building things and some have a lot more talent and keep track of it all. Never mind me, carry on.

are you talking about the Ford with 5 at the front? if so, that's how Fords are numbered...1 to 4 on the pass side, 5 to 8 on the driver side

Spent all evening after work in the shop this evening working on 3 different cars. We got a couple broken bolts out of the bottom of the front fenders on the 53 Chevrolet so we could get the front clip bolted back on. Drove my Chevelle to the parts store to get some things and then figured out where I am losing brake fluid which turned out to be a rear wheel cylinder, so got a replacement one to swap out. And, we fixed some wiring on my son’s late model Camaro that turned out to be the fuel gauge issue…. So, good evening in the shop with my son.

See I told you I can't remember enough to build things. Been pulling my hair out with my BBC. You are 100% correct. Found out the cam we were installing tonight was just slightly bent, kinda like my thinking tonight. The cam is out maybe .002 from straight. Guy helping me said if it was his and we weren't planning to spin the engine up to 6500 or maybe 7000, he would probably run it. Oh well, another delay. And we were just saying we were about past the point of finding things that needed to corrected before we could finish the assembly.

About 21 years and over 100k miles I have a wonky king pin. The other is perfect but I'll replace the pair of them, 1949 Chevy 1/2 ton.

@lumpy 63 I found these Chevy orange dot’s in my driveway while cleaning up after the rain. Did you build that Ford here when I wasn’t around? :) IMG_2485.jpeg

Exactly! At least put an electric water pump on it and disguise it as a crab distributer.

While I love the humor, I'd put mine up against it for best running flathead.
