That reminds me of one time I broke a radius arm mount on a semi truck. Miles away from a shop, not enough money to pay a tow truck. I took a couple of chains and binders, one pulling forward, the other toward the rear, with the arm mount bracket placed against the axle. The chains kept the rear axle from shifting either direction, I was able to get the truck home without any problems. Called out a mobile welder the next morning and he put it all back together.

Doubt zip ties would have helped me much!

I shortened a frame with a 110V Daytona Mig. It didn't look like that and never failed in the 19 yrs I had the truck. I sold it about 13 yrs ago and I believe it;s still going.

Let some air out of the tyres and you could plant corn in the furrows.

HEHE! That's the pic of the wheel that was on my 47 Lincoln when I got it home! A good example of how NOT to modify a wheel!

I still have that wheel and tire. One of these days I'm gonna pop the tire off it and it's mate and make something out of it. Something that will never see a highway again!

o_OFirst, you have to define the term "weld". By no stretch of the imagination is that a weld!

Then you have to define "badly", is it holding? I think some of you guys are confusing welding for function with welding as an art form. The art form is much easier than the function used to be. Just like your keyboards welding equipment is far easier to come by than it was "in the day".

  28. This is part of a set which is given to new car repair shops. There is one critical die missing from that set ,however. It's the one they roll as they are making out your repair bill, it says $500, $950, $1245.65, $2,284, $4080 and "one left testicle plus your firstborn"
