Mine is a 3D rendering done by Petro Shekhter who used Richard Scaldwell’s GN JAP as inspiration, which is what inspired me to take on this monumental task of a build. A year before my wife passed, she had prints made and framed of Petro’s renderings.

My current avatar was taken in 2017 shortly after getting the 53 Stude project in the shop. Subsequently I purchased three Stude Hawks to build this car. After completing it a couple of years ago it now is parked in Florida with a new owner. I guess I need to do something new:)

I see something cool and take a pic.

  4. My current one is a pic of my DeSoto bottom end at partial assembly .
I was trial fitting the windage tray for clearance ,,,,,it needed the holes elongated and moved over a little to attach to the main studs .
I also had to trim the rear edge at the spot where it was gonna contact the oil pan .
It might would clear as was,,,,,but I didn’t want to take the chance,,,it was awfully close in mock up .

My avatar is the nose art cel for my dad's WWII plane done by Warner Bros artist Doris Stearns. A treasured family heirloom for me.

Me, 20 years old, and the first modified I built. I just now figured out how to do this avatar thing. So if your computer screen breaks seeing it, that's on you guys for influencing me... 20240225_210543.jpg

Never bothered with one, just always felt a " outsider" within the talent this community has! However, Plowboys, Brett Hair ( Ice Cream Head by Mouse!!) and the the member who had the White Bear Challenger funny hid behind that beautiful woman just barely restraining her " hi beams"!? Those been my favorites here!

Mine is mostly of the truck. I decorate it in the yard around Halloween and Christmas. I have some of the dogs in back.
I think I will change it up again. The picture explains the name.
The one taken in Weston mo. is one of my favorites. 398177327_7192782174079340_937134063957234196_n.jpg 410743339_7346472678710288_1607359465677363859_n.jpg 272109707_5091860854171493_4161440536130109566_n.jpg 292956_256578097699817_3101860_n.jpg 334946226_765356218442145_1178234960448717027_n.jpg

This should be a good thread to read, I find a lot of the avatars interesting. Hank is three years old now and I often think a current photo of him may be in order. Still remember the day I picked him up with one hand and held him until all the paper work was done and he was in the car for the ride to his new home. He's asleep at my feet as I type this. I change my avatar to match 1 of the cars in my roster. When I sold my '55 Chevy at Mecum last Fall, I thought "Why have an avatar of someone else's car?"

My avatar's have changed from Model A Coupes to Sedans, a 52 Chevy Custom, a 55 Chevy, and at least 1 Anglia, all mingled in with a host of '32 Ford's. Now I show my '40. Don't worry, that one will be gone soon enough.
