Got this last summer. Removed the coopers, 700r4 and BMW seats. Put in m22, tunnel ram, c2 vette buckets and three point cage. Finishing it up with some cragar ss wheels this week 20230913_155527.jpg

Watched that the other day. Paul was a little to quick saying it had it’s original “283”.

I knew someone would catch that!
I usually preface videos I post with something like "here's the best 30 minutes you'll ever waste".
I will say the guy knows how to handle a crescent wrench, just need to focus on the star of the show, and that 55 is a peach.
Ya got's ta pick out what's ya like about these videos and pitch the rest.

    I'm a Ford guy , but I saw that "original 283" right off. 265 in '55.

Saved these off the Blair's FB page a couple years ago. It was love at first sight. Rat, muncie, Olds rear from '68-'78, then....unfortunately....backhalf'd and slammed to the ground on 14x32's in 1980.

My bel air hardtop was that awful light brown and white. Had it's original 235/3 speed overdrive. Had a few light dings in the body.

Any info on the above picture? Curious as to what might have happened sometime in it's life. Wrecked and new sheetmetal installed or?

I know I already posted some pics in the tri five thread but I finally got her on the street. Club plaque was dads who was in the club at 16 in '52 with a '41 chevy convert. Joined the Marines the same year so he wasn't a member very long. One of my most prized possessions.

This is why nothing I do to a car is permanent, I change my mind too much. First pic is current.
Removed the HD wagon springs and balljoint spacers amd installed a set of CPP 1.5" drop coils, put the bumper back on, removed the rear overload shocks and reinstalled standard shocks, put radials back on the rear, and I'm even adding a sway bar. Also put a back seat back in it and a wider tire up front. Handles and rides so much better. I liked the gasser look, but it rode like hell and was spooky handling at speed. Also had to put a new windshield in it after my glass hood blew off and spiderwebbed the glass. It's got windshield trim on it for the first time in my 18 years of ownership.
What did I learn with my gasser experiment? Looks cool, but that's about it. Throws your suspension geometry off enough that you can't align the front end right and you destroy front tires in a few thousand miles. Handling becomes twitchy since you're riding on the inner rim of the tire. People will constantly erroneously tell you gassers have to have a straight axle.
