Pete's had that one up for sale for a while. I'd have to say it is one of those rigs that really needs to be bought by a collector who will display it with his collection and drive it once or twice a year. Chsnge the least thing on it and the haters will come out of the woodwork and hold a protest.
What are the rear fenders off? F100? They don't look at home. As for the canted quads? If @Moriarity owned a truck, it would have 'em
The rear fenders look to be 48-52 Ford F-1 pickup to me. Says it has "1958 Econoline headlights", no idea what that would actually be? I like the truck, not sure if I can see $50K there but I do like it. I would really like to see some earlier pictures of it, maybe before it gained the 9" wide smoothies with radial tires on it.
I hope it's not a hardship sale....after 70 years of ownership, it must seem like a member of the family.
It would be very very rare being Ford didn't make the Econoline until 1961 and they all were single headlight per side. Probably a type-o.
They are tucked in partially under the lip of the bed about 1/2 way, not on top at all..cool look of the 50’s…
Dang, I use French Camp road to and from work, but never ventured all past I5 on it to French Camp. I see he has a tire/wheel shop there.
Yeah I remember seeing a few of them but never cared for the look, it was always one those "why?" things to me. Just like I don't like seeing a bunch of wiring in an engine bay, certain things should stay hidden or accent (like sidepipes) body lines, not distract from them.. .
Headlights look like 58 F100 headlights. The Econoline vans had single headlights and as mentioned they didn't start building them until 61.
agree that it should go to a collection where it will be preserved. believe that he wife p***ed away after being ill for a few years. lots of bills still due.
The full fb post has “need to sell” “having money problems” in the header. So sad Pete’s been around as long as I’ve been driving.
