Gents, I have what I believe is a 1963 built 283, (block casting # 3794226) it has a 'hub' as opposed to a harmonic balancer..... What I need is the part numbers for the crankshaft and (short) water pump pulleys. Any help very much appreciated!

That "hub" was it on a 283. Those pieces shouldn't be hard to find and the 95 buck asking for what many on here would think asking 10.00 for would be high will have some digging in the junk pulley box.
FWIW, a highschool friend had a '60 283" with that single pulley setup and every time he wound it tight, the belt would turn inside out. I notice you are running an alternator with a notcched belt, so maybe yours will stay straight. jack vines
Probably because it had a replacement short water pump [Corvette pump] Alternator and Generator engines have a slight difference in depth of the water pump pulley flange The easy fix is to remove the back cover and press the flange down a bit more All replacement pumps are the correct depth for Alternators only
I just cleaned up the pulleys from a '64 283 I'm hoping to save and the crank pulley is 6 3/4" and looks like yours. It doesn't have any numbers stamped in it and was bolted to a small, stepped dampener, also without numbers. This is a "D" code 2bbl, power glide engine. Gary
Pics of my dampener and pulleys. No numbers on any of them that I can see. The last pulley was piggybacked on the crank, maybe for power steering that I won't need. Gary
I bought the Summit pulleys for my 283 and for a 350 in my '62 Bel Air that I was converting to short water pump. I found the Summit water pump pulley was too big and would have slowed down my water pump. I used a stock 70's long water pump pulley on my short pump, it perfectly aligns with the alternator and crank pulley and is smaller diameter than the big summit unit so it doesn't slow down the pump.
that's exactly what it's for. Cars with AC got a two groove main pulley. Cars with PS got the added one in front.
