Found it, Clarkaiser custom.... featured in the 1959 custom car annual. Here is the Kustomrama page on it https://kustomrama.com/wiki/John_Cassaubon's_1950_Ford
Yep... That's it. Maybe @Kevin Lee will remember better, but I think the interior was redone in a 1980's tweed when we found it? And it was sitting just outside a junkyard and was for sale. I don't, however, remember the price... I don't care for the square taillights or the exhaust... but the rest of the lines are actually pretty solid.
Clarkaiser is what my gut said when you first sent thar pic, but I didn't say it cuz I didn't want to be wrong... My memory seems to get worse by the day... gave me a good excuse to page through some old magazines. Clarkaiser did build some really cool cars, Alan Reasoners shoebox called Utopia that has Olds quarter panels. (the car is currently pink and has a bunch of questionable mods) And this 55 Tbird... Man I really like this car, has kind of a concept car vibe
I’m Almost positive you made a previous post about that car where the history was revealed? don’t think I’d seen the A before though. Wonder what happened to it.
Probably... I woke up in a blur this morning at like 4:30 and pounded that shit out. I distinctly remember someone posting it as a restoration project as well...
Like the shoebox in white over gold and yes I too am not a fan of the square taillights. The A not so much but to each his own.
oh dark thirty and i'm goin back to sleep...yikes! And now that I'm retired it's not 5:30 or 6am either. 7:30-8am and I'm good, but of course I'm up later too.
