Does anyone know if Farrell let the Dog Catcher go? I have a slide from the January, 1978 World of Wheels show in KC of a Willys delivery all show-boated up. Bob Urban's Dog Catcher (two words) was a candy red, blown BBC, and lotsa chrome...it has 70's vintage wheels which are frowned upon 'round here, so not gonna share it now.

 

Yes to both. I’m glad that you didn’t refer to it as the Neal East roadster as is commonly done. Bill Woodard built the car with a completely chromed chassis and painted it bronze , sometime later it was sold to East. It went through a number of other owners and yes, at one point it was stolen. I saw the car in about 1976 or ‘77, it was owned by a HAMB’er and he was surprised that I recognized it in the condition it was in at the time. It hadn’t been changed, it was just in need of a lot of work. One detail that immediately gave it away for me was the molded door hinges. Maybe that HAMB’er will see this and comment.
