@1oldtimer Hello, Nice photo display of an old So Cal location. This corner in the above photo is considered the most crowded and congested street in all of Orange County along the coastline. It is the bend + stop light + old left/right turn into Laguna Beach’s Forest Avenue heading north on PCH. Not only is/was the highway narrow anyway, but with the parked cars on both sides of the highway and pedestrians crossing the street, traffic tends to get stuck here at any hour back then and now. Forest Avenue, on the right side, is now blocked off from PCH to cars and busses. It is a pedestrian promenade with outdoor displays and parklets for food. The turn and cruise up the street was always fun. But, when we lived in Laguna Beach we knew of several streets to bypass this portion of the PCH highway to get North up the coast. And/or out of the canyon drive to the freeway. The only time I can recall having “no traffic” is when we were on our 1960s late night or early morning run down the coast to surf spots beyond Laguna Beach, Dana Point, San Clemente, San Diego region or into Baja, Mexico. Those late night/very early morning drives were empty with the streets looking like ghost towns. Jnaki But, even today, we pick and choose what time to drive through the city on certain days. And for all visitors, the summer is outrageous. With the multiple art festivals plus the normal zillion artists shops in and around the whole coastal city, it is pretty congested daily. Plan on spending a long slow down and sometimes, stoppage on a green light at any intersection, let alone the most congested corner in all of Orange County coastal areas. YRMV Note: Perhaps, that is why there are so many restaurants, one has to wait so long for the traffic to die down, you might as well stop and have a great lunch or dinner. Prior to getting to this busy tight corner of Coast Highway heading North, people would probably laugh at the mention of Ruby's Restaurant in the same sentence as the famous restaurants in Laguna Beach. But, a few miles South, the only roadside diner with a plentiful display of old cars + great food? is a highlight for all drivers, let alone hot rod folks and families. During any type of nice weather, the rooftop dining area is filled with food, blue ocean views and the standard fare of 50s dressed wait staff helping out. While down below in the parking lot, a rotation of old pristine cars fights the daily visitors and outdoor salt air environment to provide entertainment for all. YRMV Park out in front of the restaurant and be seen by millions of daily visitors to the area, as well as locals off to work and back.
Well no,you are not saying! And right there is the biggest problem you,in the US,like us, have. If you have a point of view, say it,or shut up.
Personally do not have a problem with the focus. What I always have problems with is subjective views that seem to wreck things.
Please stop with the commentary, we are guests here. @Moriarity already addressed this and said to PM him with questions.
