Besides, them has Lucas wiring. You need the genuine Jaguar 3-position headlight switch: off, dim, and flicker.

    Cheers,

XJS might make a reasonable substitute for the German Ford Taunus covers. Shhh, we won't tell. But they'd look best *not* frenched, set out at the outside of the oval rings. & maybe those rings at ~half the length? I'm thinking less bug-eyed froggy look. But in almost any fashion done, getting rid of the oem lights improves it - those things fought the flow-look completely. Flat-sq knobs, round-ball knobs, spear-tip type knobs, or lucite rod w/angled-cut-end(hell, maybe back-lit like the old fiber-optic lights), all'd look good there.
Waiting to see how you better the taillights, too. :) .

The very first picture of this thread kind of reminds me of the Green Hornet. I'm really curious to see what this will look like when you are done.

You can still get those Taunus lights in Germany, and I don't think they cost more than the Jag ones.

If you’re sticking with the oval buckets consider how to lower edge an inch and a half back from the upper edge..

I have considered that, it’s a good idea, but they will stay like this. I’m after a pre-pubertal, simple, dramatic and not very sofisticated styling.
    Thanks.

    EVERYONE REMEMBERS AN IDIOT

Thank God, I choose to drive my vehicles, while alone. So when the rear wheel bounds past me, after a rear spring job, I am my only Rememberer. A little like a Ron White story, but self-induced.
There I said it, I feel so much better.

Whether you're serious or not, I love the "$1000 worth of door knobs" line!

A huge sense of highly, semi warped out HUMOR, is a definite requirement on the H.A.M.B.
That should be more than evident by now !

I was talking about the headlite covers. This thread is becoming irrelevant. Have fun w/it.

    Ok. No progress since forever.
I have a vision… What I lack is time and knowledge (for the execution, that is). But things will happen as soon as I get a few days off work, dedicated to stare, think and hit stuff with hammer. Thank you all for showing your interest.
Here comes some old stupid pics in no particular order.
