I dug out my grandpa's pics. Lots of old cars but not sure what any of them are. Cars from this era look too similar to me.

Some of you might get a kick out of these. He had some rather iconic pics.

That last shot with the two dapper dudes looks like it might be a late 20's Chevy by the wheels. Dad had a 28 that He and Lyle Browning cut down into a jalopy roadster that had those wheels if i can ever find the photos.
    Quite the batch of photos.

This looks like a 1928 Hudson or Es*** 4 door. Both were produced by Hudson. There are two main clues.
The triple rivets on the windshield post just above her right elbow.
Both the front and back doors are suicide doors with the handles at the front.
I would lean towards it being an Es***. The Hudsons were quite a bit bigger.

The first pic is Grandpa's niece from 1933 when she was part of some kind of traveling show. The rest are from him and he was a barber for years. This is him from the early 1910s:

Great Family shots, people were well dressed back then. My Dad told me that he never had a pair of blue jeans, I know he never did as far I can recall.

Any guesses about #6 (the shaving pic)? Wood spoke wheels, rear suicide doors, a radiator cap deco, chrome-trimmed headlights, and a pipe bumper (mod?).

Well @Mr48chev you are sorta right! I am almost positive that is a rather rare '24-'25 Dodge Brothers Fisher bodied 2 dr sedan. Unlike regular DB's those were wood framed bodies and fell apart like early Chevy's of the day so not many survived. I have the frame for one. They have a sheet metal piece riveted to the gas tank cover/rear crossmember to fill in to the shorter Fisher body.

Like the ornate mounting bracket on the cowl lamps too. Might be another good way to identify Hudson and Es*** models from that era. But they do look a bit frail. Bet a lot of them got vandalized or broken off. :( Also some nice details on the front bumper of that blue sedan.

I wonder what goods or services were provided by the "T & P Check Stand"? in the second to last photo. Not familiar with that term. Must have been something important since they were open day and night. Maybe you could "check" in there to see how bad the flooding was.

    CheckStand copy.jpg

After doing a little cleaning up and editing there appears to be a sign at the corner of the building that says "parcels checked". Though it's partially obscured by the first post to the left. Which makes sense as it looks like there's a line of rail cars to the left across the street. It also appears that maybe someone eloped from that second story window the night before and left their ladder behind. Or maybe they just skipped out without paying their motel bill . . .

Lol. That one is a postcard from Ranger, Texas. They had some torrential rain following a drought in the late 1910s that shut the whole place down. This was at the beginning of the Texas oil boom.

I'll go out on a limb and say this car is a 1927 Auburn Model 6-66, maybe with an aftermarket radiator mascot:

I'd almost say yes except the one in the pic has a widow's peak at the top of the radiator chrome similar to late 20's Fords and Auburns.

    #5 rad shell looks su****iously like a '24/'25 Stude.
The him/her, I was thinking him car might be a Star. But both front axles, rad shells, & front fender tips look identical.

They're very similar. I was only thinking it was a Ford because of the radiator cap. As far as hers the emblem looks like a Chevy bowtie but there's some detail in it that doesn't look like what I've seen for Chevy at the time.

My lineage is from Oklahoma, my mother was born in Muskogee...my grandpa never wore a suit
in his life...I have posted this picture elsewhere before, but here he is (on the right), having a discussion
with his brother about who gets to drive...

I was reading that it was a fast car for the day (70 mph). I wonder how it rated a**** the bootleggers.
