I think I’ve seen that car here on the HAMB before.
Should be a nice ride, as long as it’s not advertised in Beaumont, Texas;)

No reserve too! Looks like it's getting some attention, hopefully there's a surge at close today.

    Yeah.

I pity the fool that puts this car on a trailer and then comes here to tell us about it.:D

I don't own this car, but I feel like I'm losing an old friend or something. It's weird how certain cars create so much destiny that a change in their status can do that. I completely understand Jim's motivations, and would do the same, but... it's still weird.

@squirrel Congrats! Took some big acorns to put it up at no reserve but, maybe that's just your way of giving back to the hobby.

Glad to see that Tom Bailey bought it. He's big on keeping cars within the drag and drive community, so I expected that he would be in at the end. It will be fun to see what he does with it.

Woah, I thought it would go higher, but I´m glad it´s going to a good home. I´ll be missing Jim´s roadtrip and racing threads including Plan II... He was kind of living a dream for me in that car, if this makes any sense at all. Jim, Plan II , Drag n Drive events , etc is so far away from my reality here, I just had a great time riding shotgun. Congrats to both, Jim and Tom.

That's the surprise of the day and makes you want to wonder what Jim has up his sleeve now.

neat way to look at it.

I figured the car was worth between 25 and 30, seems I was right. Yeah, this car is all about putting it all out there and see what life hands you back :)

  22. I gave it some thought, I have the funds. I would have not changed a single thing on it if it were in my garage.

Edit: I was at a car show last year, a Chevy dealer had a new COPO Camaro there for $65k (no drivetrain...), my buddy was trying to talk me into buying it. It was quite tempting.

I must have missed that one. I haven't scrolled down the pages all that much in the past few days .
Edited: I went and read through most of that thread and thought a minute and came down to the simple conclusion that Jim checked off all the boxes with what he wanted to accomplish and do with that car and it's time to move on and let someone else enjoy it. Maybe it will even generate a new road trip story with a different writer = the further adventures of Plan B.
That and unless you have a garage/museum that you keep and care for cars as museum pieces cars go to hell when they sit over in the corner neglected and uncared for and become barn finds in a few years.
