I took about a 25 yr break from old cars.... and now trying to wheel and tire my new to me woody,...I've never liked, nor understood the rubber band tire look, or tires sticking out of the fenders/ or not fitting the wheel well... tires tucked= cool to me..

is there such a thing now days of an American made hot rod wheel???

I like the torque thrust look, and rocket has a copy , the fuel wheel??

where did rocket come from??? and when???

I wanna make the car have the more traditional look, it is drop axel, armstrong steering W/12'' steering wheel....eek...it's a SBC with a engine fan... so thats a plus

so what wheels fit the era ???? both my 53 & 37 have torque thrust look wheels, my model A has 16'' wires and big white walls...

    Just try'n to fit in a group....thanks

Rocket Racing wheels are/were made in China. Holley Co. purchased the company along with many other Hot Rod companies. They discontinued some, if not all, of there wheels.

They filled a niche of vintage looking or style wheels for a decent price.

As far as US-made wheels, I'm not sure and would certainly like to know myself.

U.S. Mag? Have some old-style 5spokes. Talked to one of the owners for a few minutes at a past Btt50s, where they display, but didn't ask that Q.

Rocket Wheel was a Corky Coker startup that he sold later.
I heard some American's Torque Thrust were again being made here.
Some companies claim US made but they are finishing castings from China.

  12. They make 16 and 17 as well. I have been to their facility here in Phoenix. They are the real deal, and once caught up with their back orders, now that the furnace is fixed, they will be making a lot of wheels. I'm not sure what future issue it will be in Rodding USA as they did a full tour of the place as they had an open house about a month ago.

Thanks for the update. Webpage only has 15" listed for all of their styles. I'll give them a call. Interested in their kidney bean wheels.

My American Racing wheels were made in China. They look good.

What's a Model A woody? Are referring to the wood bodied station wagon?

How about a nice side view picture of the woodie and post it on the photoshop page to see what the wheels will look like. I like AR grey 5 spoke on a white car.

my pics have 20"" wheels, found out thats a no-no even if you are changing them.. funny though... stock model A's and T's have 20'' wheels.... to me they look like socks on a rooster, so they're going bye bye...

where I'm at right now is back space problems, for me the tire has to be in the fender...the wheels that were on the car are 17's frt. and 20'' rear... the fronts are 7's wide and fit perfect, and correct height tire... the rears are 8's and stick out of the fender... they did two sadle tanks with the fuel fill in the wheel well on the rear.. so the tire height has to stay the same, but go to a 15'' rim with more back space...

Ok, thanks, now I know, never seen one in the real. The quickest way to make it look better would be to lose the front bumper

I normally don't play Mr. Spellcheck much but Halibrand is such an iconic name that it seemed appropriate in this case.

Probably technically OK to put a 185 or a 235 on a 7" wheel, but the front will be very straight walled and the rear will be very ballooned out / sucked in at the bead.

The tires are 2" difference in width, so to keep the sidewalls looking similar in profile I would try to get a 5" or 6" wide front if you are stuck on that rear wheel.

Is swapping or narrowing the rear axle an option?

Fender width and axle width dimensions would help too.
