Listed for use on a 1937-1959 Chevy 216-235-261.
Can anyone think of why this would cut off at 1959? My motor is a 1962.

Also seems there's no vacuum advance?
Question was unanswered on Speedway's Ebay ad.
    Anyone with experience with this?
    I'm assuming it's a Mallory?

When dual point conversions were common, Chev 6s were :
    '37 - '52
    '53 - '62

Wasn't the vacuum advance part of the mounting system and not directly mounted to the distributor? I was under the impression the vacuum unit turned the whole distributor.

    Excellent point.
That sure is true for the original, but I do wonder if the vacuum assembly will mount on to this one too?

Which makes me wonder why it doesn't list the last couple years.

Rock Auto shows their rebuilt distributor for 235 as fitting 53 through 62.
37/52 and actually some 53 would be 216 or dipper oiled 235.

It'll work. Also, I'm sure that any distributor being made today has the cast iron cam style drive gear on it. The reason that Rock Auto lists one for '53 and newer is that Chevy changed the cap and rotor design in '53. The older engines had a much shorter cap.

I think it's Speedwayxs version of the discontinued Mallory YL. Should work fine but I don't know what points, ect. they're using. Also need to check if it comes with a hold down clamp.

This is the response from Speedway...

I apologize, but I am not sure what, if any, differences there are between the 1959 and the 60-62 distributors. This will work with the factory hold down but is mechanical advance only, I believe.

Please let us know if we can further assist.
