I think we had about 260 cars along for the drive but not all HAMB-friendly. Great day to drive 100 miles on the two lanes.

 

They ALL look good..('specially that 'nasty-ass Woolies Pickup!') AND the 59 Rancher-roo AND the 40 pick-up....

To be honest, I never noticed what did but questioned it as well.

It started out in the low 60’s and was close to 70 or so when we finished. It was about perfect for a drive in the old cars.

 

Planning on September 21st, but need to get busy making actual plans I guess…

Also, I didn’t catch the name of the long distance award winner, but he drove his mid-40’s Chevy pickup from Iowa to get there to drive 100 miles with us. And, we gave the Crossmember pick award to Dan Haines for his cool 35 Ford coupe that he drove over from El Dorado, Kansas to hang out with us for the day.

This was the drivers meeting with Bret and Jimmy giving some details about the day and why we do these runs.

We don't have that many hot rod cars in the whole state of New Mexico. Great turn out

 

Also, there are typically a few photographers that get some good driving pics along the route as well. My son and I got several last year, but we didn’t even try this year. Maybe someone else will post some. Those are my favorite pics…cars being used for what they are meant for…driving.

 

Jeff did you end up driving your Chevelle?

 

Shh…we can’t talk about that here, but yes.
