  2. Funny I’ve always wanted a mod top mopar!

I wanted something fun for the stripe but I also am a fan of tasteful…I think it works for the car.

Trim going back on, almost all the passenger side is together.

  4. I just keep thinking of Miss Jane from the Beverly Hillbillies when I check out this thread. Can’t help it.
    She drove some cool cars

Just double check your drill bit size.
Back in '85, while in England, I built a '65 Mini (as in Cooper) Van, every nut and bolt including a new body shell. Anyway, after it was all together and painted, I measured for the holes for the mirrors. Reached in my pocket, took out a drill bit and drilled the holes on one side. What, the holes are too big! Earlier that day someone had returned a bit I had loaned them and had put that bit in my pocket. Then when selecting a bit for the new mirrors, had stuck that bit in the same pocket. Luckily, I could move the mirror just enough to cover the large holes and redrill using the correct bit. Ron

  7. It’s funny, there was three different sets of holes under the mirrors all of which were in the wrong place…

  8. Sounds like I mounted the mirrors before you bought it.
It hasn’t ever been in the southern US has it?

  9. Nope! Always been a Canadian car! It seemed like something I would do as well.

What’s the story on the pissed off mother behind the rag top? That looks like a cool project.

  14. It’s a ‘59 Dodge Regent, another Canadian only car. I have a ‘59 Custom Royal sitting beside it as well. Somewhere I started a thread on both of them, I will continue them when I get to them, the Regent is next in line.

  15. Well no pictures today, put the rest of the trim on, took the best of what was on the car and what was on my parts car and used it. Bumpers to go back on and the grill etc. had to paint the last two pieces, the front splash pan and the piece that goes between it and the grill.

Decided while it was up in the air to pull the rear drums off and do the brakes that I bought the parts for when I got the car. Ended up rebuilding the wheel cylinders and putting it back together, nothing wrong with the shoes, I will keep the new ones in the shelf until I need them.

Hopefully it will be all back together in the next couple days.

  16. What? No drama getting the rear drums off of the tapered axles?

    I'm disappointed.

You know I always liked the lace treatment but it has to go on the right car. Now when you mentioned you were going to lace this car I thought, “Uh oh!” since the car is kind of stately. Then when I saw it I didn’t think it was too bad but the texture bothered me a wee bit. Now that the trim is on it looks really cool as well as elegant as the texture with the lace looks like tooled leather! Giddy up cowboy...

  18. I didn’t clear the car and actually my wife mentioned that it looked like tooled leather!

The only thing I wish I had done now is shave the door locks…I’ve never used them and never will. Oh well.

  27. Had to make up for the 30 years it took to build the Fargo! When I backed into my truck I told my wife I was pulling the insurance and parking it, she wouldn’t let me…god I love that woman!

  28. Next on the list is to order a new top for it. Hopefully over the winter, wait until I tackle that!!
