The Vancouver, WA quay area: "... in April 1984, it was home to The Chart House, an upscale chain seafood restaurant. In 2003, Landry’s, the parent company of both The Chart House and Joe’s Crab Shack, converted it from one brand to the other." Hey 28PB, When we were in Vancouver, Washington, it was many years later that we stayed at the Red Lion Inn, now gone. We knew of the Joe's Crab Shack from So Cal area city locations. The Vancouver one had the same menu as the closed locations in San Diego City Harbor and the now closed, Long Beach Alamitos Bay Harbor locations. The new restaurant in Long Beach has taken over the structure and is run by a famous old fish restaurant from San Pedro area. But, while we were there a couple of years later, we ate at a funny named place: Who-Song & Larry’s. That was a fun place and the food was pretty good. The name Who-Song was familiar as the original name for Hussong's Bar in the town of Ensenada, Baja Mexico. The Hussong's name and place was always packed from opening to closing long after we left the place. The low cost beer, tequila and the funky worm were the things we remember. One other things was the waiter's tray on top of the women's rest room door, partially open. When any woman went inside, they were surprised at their exit and the whole place stopped and applauded at the sound of the plate falling on the floor. Yikes.. My wife thought it was funny, but had a red face when everyone was laughing and applauding. ha! Jnaki Now, the remaining new construction of what we used to walk and dine, (along the Columbia River quay) is now in destruction and will come back as a structure of homes, apartments, restaurants and shops along the boardwalk of the Columbia River. If we ever get back to that area again, it will be a place for us to rekindle our old memories and make new ones... YRMV
