The body seems to have one respray over original.

QUOTE="Stogy, post: 15013539, member: 27904"]The red one has dual wipers...the black one has only one and that wheelwell bead is absent...so yeah maybe...

I wonder if there are clues under the paint on your coupe[/QUOTE]

When I look inside the rear quarters I don't see any distortion or evidence of rear fenders above the openings so I suspect it was fenderless back there...and it seams they did run them without...

Single wiper, Dark color, seems the fender bead may be absent and no fenders back there...

    been heavily snooping...

  3. Pete, I bought the coupe body from the widow of the owner who died from cancer. He supposedly scrapped the original frame. He was going to Pro-street the coupe. The body came with a lot of 3 x 4 steel tubing. She also had a big block Chevrolet engine, a turbo 400, big rear tires, etc. Nothing that I wanted, plus she wanted big bucks for that stuff. I bought the body from the southern part of Connecticut. I hope that this little bit of info helps you to find out more.

I forgot to mention that the cowl vent is filled.

I’m a flake!!! I totally forgot I started another thread on the car.

My apologies for that. I did copy the first post and will post it here.

Never thought I’d own a 32 3W! I mentioned to a friend that I was in the hunt for a 3w body in any condition, he laughed and said there was one listed on FB market place but taken down a few days later. He did however take a screen grab with the owners name cropped 1/2 way off. After a little digging I found the seller but the car wasn’t for sale, he listed a photo of the car but was actually looking for a drivers door, he was quickly inundated with folks asking if the frame was for sale, if he’d sell the passenger door etc., so he took the ad down.
We spoke for a while, felt each other out and I asked if just the body was for sale….you know the rest.

Id love to find the builders name, track its history and possibly find more photos.

attached are some current photos and one photo that kind of resembles the car with NY plates.

I tracked down its history from 1999-2000

Nick the bandit bought the body off of Connecticut Bargain news roughly 1999-2000

Brought it to Stafford Springs CT swap meet where it was sold to Dave Simard. Dave removed the doors, sold the body to Brian McClure in 2001. Brian purchased a passenger side door from California in 2006
He owned the body until 2020-21

Brian sold the body and parts he collected to a fella in Maine. He dropped the body on a frame, collected a few more parts and now I own it.

    Notable unique features:
    Channeled body..roughly 6”
Molded Panel below the deck lid.
    Rectangular taillights.
Raised quarter panels with deleted reveal.
    Filled cowl vent.

Hey Pete, welcome back to the HAMB.
Nick got the body in southern Connecticut
I'd check early Hartford autorama pictures, that was a big show for many years. @Stogy will find it, give him time

Pete! It was so fun to see this and the progress you’ve made on it. Glad to see you’re posting on here again too. I think there is a migration of folks coming back to the H.A.M.B. for build threads like this. So thanks for your contribution! Can’t wait to see this tearing up the streets.

  10. Am going to have to tag along on this build.

Do you plan on running those rear tires? I like the tread pattern and might buy a pair for my car

@Pete...another miss, but alas, even if they aren't a hit the images help paint how awesome these Coupes looked in this configuration...I'm excited to see this come together...

Spent some time in the shop.
Got the Stewart Warner gauge panel fitted to the dash. A really good friend purchased 2 or 3 of these NOS gauge panels and sold one to me, I really like the look, simple and clean.
