Bought the pictured smoothie wheels from US Wheel. The rear wheels (different size at 15x12) do NOT have the nubs for moon caps. They only accommodate spider caps. The lack of nubs was not noticed until after they were powdercoated and thus not returnable. The rear wheels have 5 lug holes and the fronts have 10. Problem is if I use spider caps the front wheels will have 5 empty holes showing which is not so great looking. That was what the moon caps would have solved. Are there plugs that can be inserted to cover the empty lug holes? I found these but one review said they're not meant for empty holes. Would these plugs in fact work? Any OTHER alternatives to cover the unused/empty lug holes? Would there be any way to install moon caps on the rear since there's no nubs on the wheels? Using stock photos as I'm at work and not near my car. Here's a link to the plugs on Jegs. Thanks guys. https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/650...7AS1cjUmeceixGPquYUDF7ax1ElA7dmxoCawUQAvD_BwE
You can buy 1/2" hole snap in plugs all over Ebay and Amazon. But once you snap them in be sure to bend the little tabs over the back side to make sure they stay put forever. Metal ones like this can be painted wheel color to blend in.
I don't know. I would much rather find a way to put the moon caps on the rear though than anything else. That'd be the best.
The rim picture posted shows some nubs on the ID of the cap area , US Wheel may make their own moon cap to fit these rims.
Google search for "hub cap clips". There are plenty of sellers on the 'net......... https://mobelwagen.com/products/hub...Ve-kryrptNf_MBbLJPZsMzaiQiNjyRqPBpjEOvlcI0Py8
That's a stock photo on the Summit website. Part of the reason I made the purchase was because the photo showed the nubs. Also the caps I purchased are made by US Wheel. Again, they don't fit.
