  14. I read somewhere a decade or two ago where Zora Duntov stated, one of the requirments in his SBC motor design. It had to practially "bolt in" a '32 Ford with the hood closed.

  16. That's great! I liked it better blue. I remember going to the Oakland Roadster show back in the 70's. It was required that a car had to have a major change to be eligible for an award the next time it was shown, a lot of really good looking cars were changed just for that reason, and not always was the change for the better. I do like that car in red, but that blue was sweet! Thanks for the info.

    Hello,

I was searching for another bit of information for a different story on Lion’s Dragstrip. But, I came across this bit of information on an ad for Chassis Research. From none other than the owner of the company, Scotty Fenn. Yes, it was a Chassis Research ad and it showed the Tapia Brothers SBC injected motor in an early Chassis Research race car.
upload_2024-4-20_3-18-36.png This is the photo of the historic race. “Almost Grown” vs “The Green Monster #11”

Now, double the image and that was the gist of the second advertisement from Scotty Fenn of Chassis Research. Little was known of that race and the print version was muddled for the facts.

But, here it is for all to understand that it was not a one and done, but TWO to make a statement. Quickness is best used in great starting line tactics… YRMV

  29. That photo is at least 55 years old and he probably still has both the ute and the roadster.
