Technical Coupe chop 30 model A

VENDETTA COUPE 5 inch chop. During the process of chopping my coupe or preparing anyway. I searched for others posts here to see what guys had done and what was the best way to do it. If this post helps others I am happy and have done well. This chop was done in just under two weeks. With about 6 or so hours a day maybe more. But I decide to step cut the rear and it was money. There was so much after the cuts to get things to align plus all the window frames and then the doors. If anyone had any questions about what has been done feel free to ask. Thanks for looking. Thank you very much first off. I truly searched high and low to find information that was correct and helpful. There is a ton of ideas out there but the proof is in the pudding. I couldn't find what I was looking for to do the chop so this post here on the hamb i hope is something that will truly help others.

Looks good but do you fit inside the car?

 

That's the million dollar question. I'm 6ft1 and 200lbs and I fit just fine. There is enough head room and leg room. There is a package tray underneath the back window that comes out and gives the interior a bunch more room

 

Great job and thanks for the pictures. Where did you brace the body before doing the cut?

 

I did four braces two right behind the doors one was horizontal and the other triangulated to stiffen from side to side. Then two more from the front to back in a x pattern. They were welded just under the dash to the a pillers on both sides then crossed each other and connected to the two braces in the back. It worked perfect nothing could move due to the triangulated pattern.

Awesome thank you for saying so. Yes it takes a ton of work to do it nice and make it right. I hope by this chop post on here it could help others to learn to do this. Because I looked all over the hamb and couldn't find a post like mine

 

It didn't end up looking like, as many heavy chops do, the mail slot in a house door.

 

Oh yeah. I hear you. I did my 29 Tudor the same and I cut down below the frame to extend the back window so that the exact thing wouldn't happen. you are right when the window gets all squished it's out of place and just doesn't flow anymore.

 

That put the hot in your Rod....You can receive Amazon packages back there now....Just remember to change your mailing address to Bad ass model A....

Thank you for saying so. I really did think this through and studied up. I wanted it to be nice and wanted the hamb to have the chop top coupe on here because I couldn't find any or info on where to make cuts, how to manipulate the window openings, making sure the door openings measure the same from side to side the 47 degree windshield frame people always cut at 45 and get wrong. Because I wanted to share so others could learn if they need.
