Technical Wheel well to tire clearance

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by deucepickup32, Apr 30, 2024.

  1. Looking for an acceptable clearance dimension for tire to wheel well. My 32 Vicky had 1 1/4” spacers which I question being there. Have about 3/4” on one side and slightly more on the other with them removed. I know what to do to split the difference but am wondering what is optimal. Tires are Excelsior radials.

Does it rub without the spacers? That's kind of the determining factor....

and some cars rub with 3/4" clearance. You kinda need to go for a drive before you can be sure!

also some guys don't mind if it rubs, others do.

Kind of depends on if you are using an anti-rub bar.

Some call them sway bars, but they really are anti-sway bars.
