the original car started as bags of plaster that Rorh sculpted to shape, covered with fiberglass and made a mold. It was a one off custom built car as all of his builds were

It looks like post 65. Maybe late 60's? I have always liked it. I would love to build a version with a Caddy powerplant.

^^^^ Now there’s a customizing feature you don’t see every day. Painted and pinstriped Moon discs.
And note the class designation on the rear tire, no fenders put it in C/R instead of C/SR.
Looks like it was a “triple threat”.

Yah, that was something Barris promoted in some of the "little books" on hotrodding & customizing. Still don't like it after 60+ yrs...

This one looks incredibly familiar to me.
It's been years since I've seen a photo of it, but there was one running around Edmonton, AB in the late 50's that was mini-hemi powered with those same 3-point star style moon discs...

It is indeed the car I was recalling.
Built 1956-1957 by Dan Sorensen in Edmonton.

The B&W photo is a little later on, 1964.

I get what you say, but some folk (like me) have a body with a "Herman Munster" length back and a huge head which does tend to look over the screen on a normal bucket - I also have quite short legs so tell folk Im the worlds tallest dwarf. I tried a "scooped out" type seat once and while I sat low, my legs would go to sleep after about 5 minutes.

I guess some folk shouldnt build/own buckets, but they are just so much fun. :)
