Well folks, say what you will. I for one got thoroughly stung by the subscription
department of the Journal. I called up to renew my subscription. The pleasant person I
was speaking with assured me all was well with the company and tried to induce me
to purchase a life time deal. This was after rumors were afoot regarding problems
with the publication. I opted for a one year agreement. I have not received any correspondence
from the company or an issue. This was a few years ago. I feel it was a money grab effort
by a foundering business. Nothing more. I really wasn't surprised, but made the decision
based on all the positive comments on the integrity of the editors owners etc. Mistake on my part.

I can picture the stack of issue # 1 at a Goodguys show when they first came out. I hesitated to buy one because of the price, now I wish I bought every issue #1 they had, I recently started selling off my stash and got $150.00 for the first issue.

I did the same but with a two year subscription , the only thing I got was the Christmas catalog ! I have brought everyone since they started. Loyalty goes both ways ! I will never subscribe again.

  4. You guys can bitch and moan and say what you want. I understand that but they went through a lot of shit and they aren’t giving up. I think they had an issue with their customer service database last year during their location transfer and had to restore it. The best thing to do during this time is to repeatedly email them with your customer information and current order status and they will eventually make it right. I know this because that’s what I had to do.

I went through a similar situation, in person at the Street Rod Nats, in Louisville a couple of years back and still nothing, after many attempts. All I want to know is if my subscription is good after all this, and regardless, I don't mind paying for a new one! I just want to get the magazine again!

I as well understand business can be tumultuous. I usually don't deal with a firm
after such an experience as I had. I would like to see it go into full production
    again. I'm still skeptical.

Be careful what you say guy's. They wanted to ban me from here for life because I was upset that I paid for a subscription in 2020 and still never received a magazine.

What's Rodder's Journal? Is it a magazine? Does it come in the mail? I dunno. (Grin!)

You should NOT have to do this. You paid for the subscription and it is supposed to show up. You shouldn't have to call, email, make excuses, anything. You are a customer. That is simple.

  11. Like I said I understand, but YOU DO when shit goes down that’s out of their control and some data is lost. When I emailed them they finally got back to me and we found they had an older address and it was corrected.

A buddy of mine who’s son had gifted him a subscription before covid and had not received anything sent an email 6 months ago. He called and told me that he got issue 86 in the mail yesterday

  14. That’s good. I know it took awhile. My sub expired while they were sorting things out and ending up getting my last issue 85 very late. And it took 2 years for me to get my online order of 4 back issues. I’m not complaining. I understand what they are going through. They are a very small outfit trying very hard to get their content back out there for the hot rod enthusiasts.

I have been emailing "" 1 ""time a week for last 6 weeks ,with No response, asking if I was still on there list , & how Subscriptions are sent out,
By First Name , Last Name
    States
Or by Life time membership # in order.
I am curious to know how many Emails TRJ receive each day not to have a response back ,,,

  16. Who knows probably a lot. It took weeks for me to get a response and I know them, and live not far from their office.

There have been many threads posted here and hundreds of comments from "Hang them from the highest yardarm" to "they are nice people". Why put yourself through this just to get worked up and fire up everybody else. Just let it go. If you get, or got, burned, it was a cheap lesson. If you get your magazines now or in the distant future, then you can celebrate. I understand that you will say that it's the principle but why get worked up and cause yourself heartache? Move on and go out in the garage or shop and beat the living shit out of something hard with a hammer and dolly.

KMS Tools has been listed in old issues of the Rodder's Journal as place that sold their magazine but when I called this morning, they said they don't do this anymore due to poor sales. Back to trying the Old Car Centre.

Haven't received it yet, my cc was charged on May 2 so guessing it's somewhere between CA and MN. It'll show up when it shows up.... I'm a patient guy! ;)
If I think about it I can post here when I get it.

I am a lifetime subscriber, was always sceptical as offers like that offered are not financially sustainable. But I had met Steve a couple of time and good friends told me he was a straight shooter. So I put up my money, having gone thru some major challenges in my own business, I understand sometimes the best decisions aren't made. After many emails got a response and their data base had been compromised and they had my old address. Have had several Emails, including one last week, stating my mags have been sent. I admire Steve for not walking away, would have been the easy option.
I have offered to pay, but Steve has stook by his commitment. Just waiting for my last 3 issues. I suggest you email, from my experience they will eventually respond. Those Lifetime members who complain already got their moneys worth. Good luck with it.

  30. I am a lifetime subscriber and am patiently waiting, though my patience is wearing thin. I will call/message them next week if my copy does not come through soon. I have sympathy that they are likely understaffed and overwhelmed by all the anxiety about receiving a long overdue, but heavily anticipated journal.
