1934 Ingels Roadster...Hi Def Photos...# (1).jpg Last weekend I was at the Famoso Swap Meet, and I showed Jake Jacobs a photo from 1971 that has my 1934 Ford Custom Roadster in it, and what looks like Bud Bryan checking it out. The photo was labeled as "1971 Bill NieKamp 1929 Model A Roadster - Article The Summer Saga of the J-Kamp Roadster". Now I don't really know what my car has to do with such a Cool "On the Road" Story, but I would sure like to find out!

Jake thought that maybe he, Tom Senter and Bud Bryan were all together when the photo was taken.

I would Love to send Bud a copy of the photo, to see if he remembers anything about the car.

If anyone knows how I might reach him, that would be Great!

    Thanks, Greg Shelton

I have been in touch with Bud Bryan and Greg Shelton about this. Bud does not know anything about car, or guy looking at it. Bud was editor of Rod & Custom in '71

The interesting thing is that the photo is labeled as "1971 Bill NieKamp 1929 Model A Roadster - Article The Summer Saga of the J-Kamp Roadster"...So the timeline fits for when Bud was the Editor. But it's been a lot of years...and a lot of cars...so on with the search!

What pic are you referring to?
I don’t notice anything on the OPs pic.
    Thanks.

You know, the interesting thing is that the photo above is from the Petersen Archives, and it is labeled : "1971 Bill NieKamp 1929 Model A Roadster - Article The Summer Saga of the J-Kamp Roadster"...So the timeline fits for when Bud was the Editor of Rod and Custom Magazine. And in the summer of 1971, Bud, along with Ron Weeks, Jake Jacobs, and Tom Senter were all on the cross-country trip to the second Street Rod Nationals in Memphis, Tennessee...which is what the story is written about. I don't know if there is any connection between the car and the story, but I think it's a cool coincidence. Last weekend, at the Famoso Swap Meet, I got Jake Jacobs to autograph a copy of the photo above...and I was hoping to ask Bud if he would also autograph a copy for me? The picture is mislabeled because the body is a ‘33-34, not a ‘29, the nose is much wider and the grill is not the same shape, nerf bar is different, etc. Not the same car. Perhaps the photo was intended to be used in an article which had the ‘29 in it. “The Summer Saga of the J-Kamp Roadster”, was printed in the Fall edition of the Street Rod Quarterly, 1971.
