I am starting this thread tonight since we have to be on the road by 4:30 am tomorrow morning. This is a huge show and the kickoff to the summer cruise in season. 28 years of hot rods, in the streets around 10th and Hawthorne in SE Portland. It rained last year (typical for these parts) but this year the high tomorrow is 84 degrees and dry! Always happens the Saturday before Mother's Day and it is over by noon. Yes, if you snooze, you lose.

I will provide photo dumps from my phone but not a lot of commentary. I would love to see a freeway feed from I-5 at o:dark thirty tomorrow morn. The only people out and about will be driving hot rods...and crack heads looking for a place to sleep.

I don't turn in till the wee hours normally. Tonight, I am hitting the hay early. I filled the tank on my roadster, got my thermos ready, phone charged, see you all tomorrow!

Ah yes, the freeways are fun that time of morning. Damn near took out a crack head playing “frogger” on I-5 one morning. Followed that up with some clown with some clown going the wrong way on the bottom deck of the Fremont bridge. 4am starts at the Daimler truck plant can be entertaining…

Thanks for sharing. I saw a couple of familiar cars and a couple of familiar faces in that bunch. That will have to go on the list for when I get a suitable ride running.

@Moriarity can you make those pictures large? I don’t know why it did that.

Sorry, I think a Karman Ghia slipped in that bunch. Please delete. I took that for the VW thread on the OT forum.

Did ya recognize Marty Strode with the speed boat? All the cool kids are here. I had to pop a squat for a few. My dogs are barking. This thing goes on for blocks in every direction.

I've been out of the loop for some time but I think this must be Mark Westricks' deuce roadster number two.

Roger that, a light yellow GTO post car with dog dish hubcaps checks all the boxes for me.
When I was around ten years old there were two guys in my small Oregon town that ordered 64 or 65? GTO's, one dark turquoise and the other a ? green/gray color, word got out they had arrived and the two guys were going to be showing them off at my pals' dads gas station, rode my bike there and they were there with a crowd around them already.
A memorable day for sure, I can't believe I never owned one.

That's way more than a bargain. I think it's an outright steal! Do you know if it sold?

Yes I did. I’ve seen several photos of him on the HAMB, I was going to ask if it was Marty.
And thanks for all the photos.
    Lotta work for sure.
-but, gives some time for the feet to cool off;)

It was as good a show as ever with wonderful weather!
My red Austin gasser is the Mouse Trap in the pictures Billy posted, and the silver '35 Plymouth fenderless coupe in picture #14 is one I built for my neighbor. Didn't even know he'd gotten it on the road yet?
My friend Cedric owns the Flat Trap Anglia with a stroked 301 GMC six that's now 321 ci., and injected. He fired it up there and the engine sounds wicked! It's 14.5:1 compression!

No idea but I thought the same thing on the price. Couldn’t build it for that.

what a show! I took pictures of a fraction what was there. Perfect weather, free hot dogs, cool cars, nice folks. Perfect!
