kinda depends, I don't know if you're using a phone or a computer to do it? I do it differently with each.
Here: I saved it here on my Photobucket album when I did those a few years ago. Don't post OT crap like that red mustang though.
No Mustangs.....no private photos of wife. Pick something else that fits with in the HAMB guidelines. Thanks Moderator
@aces52 Hello, Contrary to popular belief, the HAMB posting rule is fine if your preliminary photo is/was taken by you or already in your files. That way, one could already adjust it to the correct size and clarity for the post. That seemed like a great way to post your own photos. Not full size copies directly from an internet source to copy and paste onto a HAMB thread. The original photos usually have some composition or of what is taken with the digital camera or even a phone camera, at least you have adjusted your clear photos and are not copies. The above photo of an old 52 surf wagon was a good photo, but the original photo included too much surrounding stuff to distract from the actual Pontiac wagon. So, a crop was necessary to get a clear photo of the wagon and not the “other” stuff normally in any photo, unless one has set up a “photo shoot” moment. (On any empty location or cliffside photo location overlooking the ocean.) Most digital cameras are excellent as they are some of the best MP + clear, quality lenses around. The phones are starting to catch up, but have a long way to go… YRMV But, one cannot just take a photo and save it to your computer files. You have to set up the photo for “unwanted objects” in the photo and adjust the size. No one wants to see a copied photo full size and blurry due to photograph limitations. Larger is not always better. Jnaki Take a photo Save it to your computer files Open the file and adjust your photo for errors… Not AI generated Now, a simple way is to post it to a Word Document. Why a Word Document? It is simple and easy to adapt to the paragraph written. Usually the quality digital camera has huge photos as per camera settings. So, some adjustment are necessary. One can adjust the size, normally the size of a 35mm negative is about clear and concise enough for a good post photo, while maintaining some resemblance of clarity. Remember, old photos were about 2 x 2 or so. 35mm is smaller, so most pro photographers use large format cameras for their magazine shoots. a normal 35mm size photo gets copied and pasted from a file and turns out huge, below. So, depending on the camera and final result of the taken photo, some adjustments need to be made for clarity and quality photos. An old 35mm photo of normal size and clarity… still gets enlarged (almost too large) on the HAMB post to make it somewhat blurry unless adjustments in size is completed, first, to fit the HAMB post screen. But, we as ordinary folks can still have excellent photos from our digital cameras. Something is usually in the photos taken that needs to be cropped out. Remember, it is the car, not the trees or people in the background, etc. Ever wonder why press photographers use larger format cameras from the old days, vs the newer higher quality digital cameras vs phone cameras?
