I wonder if any more are available. I need one now for my Rutherford headed B I'm restoring. Now the engine has a wider not deeper pan on it.

29Sleeper, I just looked and he does show the pan on his site, but looks like he reworked the patterns so you can now run an oil pump in the pan. Check out Dan4banger the pan is on the second page.

IMG_3840.jpeg I bought this 2 piece oil pan from an “old guy” in CA in 1987. He said it was a Rutherford pan. I was 18 then, now I’m the old guy.
Dan from Ohio saw it on my car and I believe he said he made it. In a A chassis the tie rod interferes.

More cool stuff… I graduated high school in 85. Model As and bangers were not on my radar at the time. I’d like to think I’m not an old guy yet.

Not the prettiest welds I’ve ever made… but they’re burned all the way thru and should clean up nicely!

Mama said she wanted to be left alone to read her book all day… Cool! I’ll be in the shop!:D

Finished up the welding this morning and got the easy side of the manifold blended out. It may be a candidate for polishing after all! The drawback to full penetration welds is all the stalactites in the runners, nothing a carbide burr and a couple hours won’t solve. Just have to resurface the flanges now…

That looks like the a nice casting, what is the purpose for all this work, better flow? Better carb position? Aesthetics?

It’s a looooong story… so short version. Custom cast manifold to crowd 2 Winfield’s close together (sideways) on a plenum style manifold. Works great… as long as I’m driving straight! I had underestimated their sensitivity to fuel sloshing. Having another cast without drawing the wife’s attention was not likely to happen.

Soon I will be able to mount the duals back on the car to see how it runs (while turning). I know the pair of carbs are too big given the sideways mounted experience, but will be making sleeves to size the Winfield’s down from B’s to A’s. Will reduce from 300 cfm to 200 cfm (probably still a bit too big)

How it’s set up now to solve the oversize and drive ability issues:oops:

I believe that little fan may be intended for use in the southern hemisphere… where toilets and fans run in the opposite direction;)

BMC east/west models are all sideways with radiator on inner fender, hence the pusher fan. Might work OK if you reverse down a really looong driveway

Maybe the fan is a good enough excuse to build a reverse rotation engine…?

Lookin closer at yur engine, what plugs are you runnin…? I can only make out part of the number but looks like LZK??? Google says maybe 12mm x 26.5mm thread? I put 10mm plugs in my T and looks like we have a similar problem… loose boots! I have yet to find any wire sets for these smaller porcelain plugs as they are all intended for use with modern direct mount coils. Have been considering making a mold and casting my own boots from silicone…
