It’s probably me that’s not seeing it!
I have the radius rod mount about 4” behind the clam shell and I assume there is a front support bearing in the tube to contend with. But a lot of it is speculation at the moment. Once Pendine races are out of the way I need to rip into this thing to see what I’ve got and get some proper measurements and mock up a few ideas. Thanks so far guys.

Shorten the tube behind the wishbone mount where it’s nice and straight, then shorten and adjust the angle of the wishbones.

Maybe we need to know what going on in the neighborhood back there.

yes I will get some better pics. For now this shows the entry of the rods from the rear axle.

Main issue is the bodywork where the radius rods go through. I don’t want to start playing with that area.

I found this one too. It shows the seat removed and how the fuel pump and battery is set up.

So put a kink in the wishbones in front of the wiring bay. Won’t be pretty but will still work. And shouldn’t need to modify the tin or wiring.

How short is too short for a torque tube with transverse leaf suspension? Is there a limit? I guess the UJ is the deciding factor?

Would a direct drive Powerglide fit? Or some other small auto trans? I think you can ditch the torque converter and use an external pump. Flexplate for starter drive.

I think I need to find some comprehensive list of transmissions their dimensions so that I can narrow it down a bit!

I’m not sure how long a power glide is, and I’m not sure how leaving out the torque converter would make it any shorter, or help me with my need of a clutch solution. I’m not being sarcastic by the way, I just have no experience with automatic transmissions.
