Maybe you could pick up a couple(thousand) and mail them out for a fee?

  2. I was an early subscriber, have a lifetime subscription, and a full set starting with #1, but don’t want to depend on the USPS for #86. I got mine through Autobooks. Here’s what you are looking at:

    The Rodder's Journal #86 C X 1 = $15.99
    ==========
    Subtotal: $15.99
    Shipping: $12.95 via Flat rate
    Tax: $0.00
    Total: $28.94

If you think that is steep then try shipping to Australia . Especially when our dollar is only worth 66 us cents

  5. Yup. Or would you rather take your chances on the USPS, and hold your breath until their delivery might ( or might not) come about?

I paid the shipping, and wrote it off to “the vigorish.”*

Funny, I went to order it, saw the shipping and then deleted the order. I'll wait until the subscriptions get back up and running.

I get it and understand why the shipping is so expensive for a magazine. I'm just not in a hurry to overpay for it right now.

Life time Subscriber still waiting on my Issue # 86 . I too got a letter in my Mail telling me it was on the Way. With the current state of this world, (I just viewed some Offshore Oil Filter Manufacture) Pointed out in another Thread. Saddened! I could Sure use a Rodder's Journal fix!

  11. Me too.
Rather than wait on the never gonna reply email from TRJ, or the some what dubious delivery service from USPS, I bit the bullet and got #86 from Aerobooks-Autobooks.
It came FedEx in a bubble wrap filled, bullet proof box in 3 days.
Instant gratification versus crickets from TRJ home office.

  15. I sent a email yesterday.. I don't want my subscription to expire....waiting on a reply back..
since I heard when they got back up and running... they would not be taking new subscriptions.
also trying to catch up on things for people who paid for back issues and merchandise first.. I'm glad its back

  16. I just got mine from Autobooks today. I collect all of the covers so I ordered the C. I will pick up a B after my subscription A issue shows up. I ordered from Maryland to California for a magazine based in Maryland and had it show up in 3 days. Well worth it though. It is a great publication!

I stopped getting it years ago. To me it was a '32 Ford hotrod magazine and they all look the same after a while.

I gave up, ordered cover #3 from Auto Books. It was shipped from Burbank CA. on the 15th and in my mailbox in NE. this morning. Expensive but I've got one! I was one of the first lifetime subscribers, but I never asked what lifetime? Maybe I'll get one by mail later?

Well I'm south of Detroit in Monroe. I just wanna know if my scrip is still alive, and if it is ill get it whenever and don't care. We'll I care a little, trying to fix and heal another back injury and a fresh TRJ would be a welcome element. Currently folding thru back issues much like watching TV reruns. I feel like Willie Wonka, "The suspense is killing me, I hope it lasts."

I'm a lifetime subscriber too, upstate NY.
Haven't seen my copy yet either.

The "... They're on their way...." email was sent out by TRJ a month ago now.

Please let us know if / when your sub copy arrives.

Not if you use the "Media Rate". We use it all the time between friends -- it usually ain't fast, but it's reliable.

According to USPS regulations, anything shipped via "Media Mail" cannot contain any advertising material. Pretty much rules out any commercially produced magazine.
To me, the shipping cost from Autobooks-Aerobooks was very reasonable considering the magazine was bubble-wrapped inside a heavy corrugated cardboard carton.

  28. Saw them there...I was able to make contact and get my address changed! Super excited for my issues and glad to see them back at it! They have a big hole they're climbing out of, I'm sure that Steve will make it right with everyone, as best he can. Have faith.

I'm not disputing the shipping being reasonable. What I've said is that I'm cheap and don't want to pay the shipping for a mag I should be receiving. That's all. I'll probably break down and ordering it since I read about J. Jacob's roadster.

  30. Ok, the most recent post of a regular or lifetime subscriber getting their copy was last Friday. It is a bit annoying that so many are getting theirs through other sources before subscribers’ copies are being received. I am happy they are still going, just unhappy I have not gotten my copy a month after they claimed copies were being mailed. A bit of communication from them to the HAMB would be appreciated and appropriate as HAMBers probably make up a significant portion of their subscribers.
