I try not to be too critical of cars of that era. The sport was rapidly evolving and safety concerns dictated how cars were constructed as incidents on track occured and the sport collectively learned what improvements needed to be mandated. Heck, I daresay I'd be reluctant today to drive some stuff I built, knowing all the pitfalls that awaited me.

That altered exhibits stellar workmanship for that era, or any era for that matter. But it would be fun to see how many things woud not fly today with a rigorous tech inspection under todays NHRA standards.

 

I don’t understand why everyone excited about that altered - it appears obviously was built for show. & it is a beauty but I suspect never ran in anger.

 

Anyone have a dollar I can borrow to get the catalog?

 

It was built for show, but there are photos of it running at San Fernando, at least once.
