Back in the day, was looking for a Z28 Camero, but ended up with a 78 Firebird Formula. Was a nice blue with a hint of purple, but it was a gutless wonder with the 350/4bbl. Sounded good though when I installed true dual exhaust. Would set off car alarms in parking garages. Lol!

  6. Guess i,ll have to find some pics of the T/A 6.6 with 4 speed that i bought new in 1978 and had shipped to Europe and then to Australia.

  9. I got a soft spot for Pontiacs; Catalina 2 + 2's, GTO's and the Firebird. But bleeding Chevy orange I gotta go with Camaro.
Wife's '73 Firebird with a 350 two barrel, buckets, console and a 3-speed. We put mags on it and dual glasspacks, it ran nice and sounded great. Then got her an '83 Z28, 305, 5-speed. Kinda sluggy but a fun car. Then my/hers '67 Camaro.

  11. I have always been a die hard Camaro guy. My grandparents and Parents always had one. My first car, that I still own, was a Camaro and Ive owned at least two at all times since my senior year of high school, lol. Been in the local Camaro club since I was 19, been the President a couple times, currently the VP. Have always played with Camaro's along with the hot rods and customs.

The Camaro's I owned or owned

The first - 68 (still own)

98 Super Sport - Sold the 97 for this car in College
    IMG_0994.JPG

Then my 14 Super Sport - First car I ever bought brand new, sold the 98 for the down payment.

While owning the 14 and 68, bought a buddies 2000 Super Sport convertible. Sold it for my C10 after a couple years.

Sold the drop top and then traded the 14 in for a 17 Super Sport. I then proceeded to drag race it for a few years while driving it to work, lol. Woodburn started a "modern muscle" class. Kind of a modern take on the old Super Stock days, but still a bracket setup. Car is consistent has a real tight window for dial in.

My parents had this 3rd gen when I was a baby, my little sister was the reason it went down the road for the mini van.

The a few of the Camaro's my grandpa has had over the years.
91 Z28 - owned this car twice, lol

67 Convertible, was a odd optioned car. Had the optional 250 I6, the deluxe steering wheel, power top and nothing else.

67 coupe - another odd option car, strato bench, fold down rear sear, standard interior. Factory A/C, power steering, 327 powerglide. Was a Cali car so had all the smog stuff.

68 RS - Was my uncles car before he passed away, never was finished grandparents sold it for obvious reasons.

@Taboo56Chevy , Yenko? Sweet bow tie badassness. Buddy of mine has a 5th gen COPO. Fast car. Did you see what GM plans on doing to the Camaro in '26? Hint, it has 4 doors and batteries. If you had told me in the 70's that Mustangs, Chargers and Camaros were 4 doors in the future...and electric, I'd have fainted! Aerosmith said it best "there's something wrong with the world today, I don't know what it is..."

  13. a fake one, lol. I added all the emblems, then had PDX wraps do the decals. The car was just plain red when I got it and wanted something different.

I'm adding go fast stripes to my 442 so I get it. They would make me think twice. I saw a pic of the new Yenko Vette, 1000 mid engine HP. Yikes.

  15. The first car I wanted to buy as a very young teenager was a red 68 camaro with white nose stripe, it was nothing special but man I was hot for it. I worked like a dog to get the $800 bucks together, went to get the car and the owner had changed his mind on selling it but offered me a yellow 2 door 57 with a white roof instead, stupid me didn't take it.
In high school I drew images of 70 Motion camaros and made lists of what I'd change on it, later in life I looked at a burnt orange 71, short rear spoiler, cragars and a 454, for some reason I didn't fork over the $5500 for it. The real reason was I was looking for a 37-8 chevy coupe, several yrs later I bought a 68 firebird convertible, didn't keep it long though, something about that pea green paint.
With all that being said I currently have a couple 70-73 formula firebirds saved from marketplace and will stop and look at 67-68 and 70-73 camaros when I see them pop up, no room for them though.

I always like seeing this one at the cruise nights

That T/A camino reminds me of a Gran Tour show where the short twat is driving a Chevy SSR. The fat twat says "it really wasn't a good pickup". The short twat replied "yes, but it a terrible sports car".

  18. I just cannot get onboard with first generation firebirds. Camaros just look so much cleaner. Now the 2nd generation kind of tilts the scale with some of the Super Duty offerings and Jim Rockford's ride.

Not being a bowtie guy or even a GM fan I can admit to liking a Pontiac or two. I like the early TA, 69 and 70 - 73. I also liked the Formula Firebirds 70 - 73. The one and only new GM Ive owned was a Formula Firebird.

  20. I always thought I'd like to have a black 68 with ram air hood and paint a big hood bird like the side emblems, in black/red/turquois/white colors

That’s a 327 4bbl power glide car that mechanically has not been messed with. It was a real find.
I did it 11 yrs ago. I’m building him. A 29 RPU and a 29 Tudor Sedan, now one car that I miss and it’s not a Trans-Am, but a 67 Firebird 326 HO Pewter exterior and a black deluxe inter on rally II wheels. I sent that one down the road to buy my house. If I ever get the dough to get another one, I’d step up and replace it along with a 68 GTO 4 Spd Rag Top.

  24. I just remembered my cousin in Canada had a genuine mid '80s Camaro pace-car . White and all the stickers/lettering.
Cant remember if it was a Indy pace car though. Last time i saw it was 20 odd years ago. She was really proud of it. I was,nt really that interested  in that model Camaro.
