Not a subscriber but the past way of having different covers of the same issue should be curtailed until things get back how they once were or maybe never. Publishing is a nightmare enough in this day and age and adding limited printing for a cover makes it harder on the printer and negotiations to get what the 2 want….

  2. I wouldn't have 15,000 emails to deal with because I would actually communicate with my customers more than once a year after I had taken their money. If people had answers of any sort the vast majority of them wouldn't be emailing every single week trying to get answers to the exact same question.

If they need some help why not ask on the HAMB if a couple of the folks could share a few hours a week to put a dent in the communications problem. I know there are lots of great communicators on here that just might offer to help.

Agree with the multiple cover situation. Just adds another layer to some complex problems.

He is absolutely right! If they can't budget their time to take 5 minutes to communicate an update on a regular basis, something is wrong. Busy? Hell, yes, but 5 minutes? 5?

They could have an automated reply on email/voicemail directing people to their website.
Updates once a week on the website would only take 10 minutes, if that.
If they did this, at least people would not feel totally abandoned. Not ideal, but better than nothing at all.
Of course, there are still some who will expect one-on-one conversation via phone/email.
    Can't please everyone.
But what would I know....... I've only run my business for coming up 30 years.

I will add that I really hope they can manage to pull this out of the fire.

  10. No dog in the hunt, but checking "reply all" on the inbox and sending something would be better than nothing, IMO.

Might even slow the influx of emails

  11. I still haven't received a email or a magazine, I don't understand why the retail book sellers are able to get TRJ but lifetime subscribers are looking in their mail box and it's still empty. HRP

  12. Simple, they already have your money, the retailers will have to pay for theirs

I am hoping that if the retailers sell enough of them then Steve will have the $ to pay for the postage / freight for the subscriber copies.

Not how it works."Reply All" will only send the message to multiple people involved in an individual email.

C'mon, man. We are rooting for them to make it, but there is no excuse not to communicate something at this point. They use to send out email blasts a few times a year with the seasonal catalogs, etc. Any functioning business has some sort of mailing list.

Getting the word out on here, on the socials and email would cut down their emails considerably.

Let's not excuse poor practice. Hopefully, Steve and Co. will read this read and realize they need to communicate better.

It has always been this way for me with Rodder's Journal. It was explained to me that they all are shipped at the same time, but due to the bulk shipping to retailers it is quicker than the individual magazine subscribers as the shipping methods used to reduce costs of individual shipping take way longer than the larger packages. It was always 2+ weeks after Barnes and Noble had it that I would get mine. I too am still waiting on the big cardboard envelope.

  17. I'm not sure how much I have left on my sub,...so I ordered from Autobooks, got mine from them in a few days from California to me in Illinois.
at least now I have no. 86,...and like always, it's a great (book) magazine.

  19. FWIW, a friend got a text from Steve and was told that the bulk mail depot he was using quit doing bulk, and he had to go to another source.

Had to go to another source? Uh, no, he needs to go to another USPS depot that handles bulk mail. The gentleman that runs the USPS has a logistics firm and I believe he has long desired to privatize mail delivery. Maybe his firm would not be directly involved but no doubt he knows others operating logistics companies.
Here’s what is involved to send U.S. mail at a reduced rate, i.e bulk mail.

Yes, TRJ has troubles but information in a timely and truthful manner goes a long way.

Yes , But its Not a Dead Horse !!!!
I am one that has supported TRJ ,
"""" STEVE """ has Its seems to Most of US has given the Double finger!!!!
I can uderstand things went wrong ,
But when you hear that , & we know there are people here that Know Steve personally & Steve /TRJ does not come here / or send out Information to let US the Supporters , Give us some insight on what's going on!!! Keeping the same Trade Name ""TRJ"" & supplying and selling TRJ to bookstores !!!!!
I feel , maybe others to , we would more likely feel it would of be better If ""TRJ""
Name went away , A new Open Magazine/ Business under another trade Name,,, that all describers and lifetime members would've ended, The Company name /magazine everyone would be on Even Playing field !!'

I use to buy TRJ in stores before I became a Life time Member , My Life time I purchased , was a
    """Auction here on the HAMB""
    I believe I Bid more then $300 ,,
I have a few things that I have as long time support / services That a company will give incentives to new customers hoping to draw more customers instead of ""incentives"" for the people /customer that have kept them in business / built there Business for years I am referring to , are more than 20 year relationships,,,

The Ones that know Steve / TRJ should ask/ tell , To reach out to Us, the supporters what's going on, If you have and as of now , Steve TRJ has not reached out to us the supporters
Steve TRJ does not care By lack of communication and Steve actions, has gave us the Looks the "fingers"" so far!!!
I'm surprised there's not more bashing here,, you always here comments if a vehicle stolen or somebody done wrong what people would Like to do,,,
what makes this issue any different??

actually sent from """ TRJ """"
    thank You Steve /TRJ

I still stick to my previous comments ,,"" Not Nice /Negative""because of actions , things would've went or be seen a lot different if communication was supplied to us supporters subscribers and lifetime members IMG_1685.jpeg
