Richie Evans, the famous NE modified driver, used DOT orange paint he liberated from his job. LOL

Seen a lot of online samples ,but my experience has been they looked different after spraying which I am sure due to what primer underneath.

All depends what you call bright. I remember when House of Color had a neon orange. I wouldn’t recommend it, but it was definitely bright.

AMC "Big Bad Orange" as found on the 69-70 AMX. Was brighter than Mopar Hemi Orange, or Hugger/Carousel from GM. Ford "Poppy Red" and also known as "Calypso Coral" later on, was a nice pure bright orange. Not screaming bright but cleaner than Big Bad or Hugger. Shoot any of the above over a white sealer and it'll pop on bright days like crazy. I mention these names since the resto industry has color formulae so repairs in the future should be a no fear.

I like the Ford Poppy red over the hugger orange. The hugger has too much yellow in it for my liking. I could be biased as my Dad painted his ‘40 Ford coupe poppy red back in the mid 80’s.

Chrysler P62 Omaha Orange comes pretty close to as bright as it gets.
You see it on those 2021 Jeep Renegades running around.

Might take a look at “Atomic Orange” as found on the 2008 Corvette. Pretty damn bright.

I have. It's ok. This truck was sprayed with it. Dad sprayed this one. I couldn't find any completed pics. This was 15 years ago.

Look at '71 VW bug Clementine Orange, always loved that color.

  24. Hugger Orange.
It looks more red in natural daylight and more yellow under shop lights.

Check out Kubota Tractor orange. And if you ever need it, you can get touchup paint at any Kubota dealer.
