I just read the following advice in the 1919 printing of the ****s Engine Encyclopedia and thought I'd share it with you: "The first and most important thing to learn about any carburetor is to let it alone as long as it is working properly." ****s is the guy that invented the float with needle & seat mechanism for carburetors, a**** other stuff.
I'll bet he also thought it was best to not worry about how a carburetor looked, as opposed to how well it worked.
