As a new HAMB member, I could use a little clarification to avoid inappropriate posts. As I mentioned previously, I am working on a 1936 Ford Fordor Touring Sedan inherited from my father. While he owned the car, he purchased a Roadster Shop IFS / 4 link frame with a Ford 9 inch, set up for a small block Chevy motor. I plan to use this updated platform to build an all steel, traditional looking mild custom (3" chop, shaved door hinges, filled roof and cowl vent, etc.) with the dependability and comfort to be a daily driver, as well as an occasional long trip. The drive train will most likely be a SBC 383 stroker with a 4L60 trans. This will not be a rat rod, as it will sport a complete interior and finished paint job and select original trim. Picture of my in process car attached. 20230729_121312.jpg

My Question: IS THIS TYPE OF BUILD APPROPRIATE FOR THIS FORUM?

    If not, any suggestions?

I understand if this is NOT the venue for my build, and I do not want to offend anyone. I admire traditional rods and customs, and do not want to intrude into a space that I do not belong.

I will continue to be a member, as this is a GREAT source of info for anyone into older cars, I will just refrain from posts that don't fit the criteria.

Thanks for the guidance, keep 'em rolling.

    Thanks for asking.
The IFS is not HAMB Traditional so don't show any pictures of the IFS or mention it.
The rest keep to the Traditional ERA and you should be good.
We don't do Street Rods or Rat Rods.

Any questions prior to any posting feel free to Private Message me and I'll reply when I'm able.

    Thanks,
    Cob

Wheel & tires won't be as noticeable once the front and rear skirts are in place. You all like to poke fun at things, I prefer sarcasm.[IMG]

First, welcome to the HAMB from East Tennessee. Since your car doesn't fit in the "Traditional" category, are you aware of the "Off Topic" forum that Ryan has recently added to the HAMB? I believe that your car would fit there. Since you prefer sarcasm, a garage floor as clean as yours doesn't follow tradition. There are no dirt or grease stains. ;)
