A one year only nightmare, the '65 fairlane even had one year only motor mounts. Car fought me every step of the way for parts. Ended up letting or go for yet another one year only.... FB_IMG_1634506554747.jpg

Yes, the Parklane is a nice looking wagon, for sure. But the Nomad is superb. The Parklane looks like an ambulance by comparison.

The 67 Marlin was the prettiest Marlin (65-66 look the same). It was built on the longer Ambassador wheelbase instead of the Classic like the 65-66 models. The new body style helped, but the increased wheelbase gave it a much sleeker form than the hunched up shorter version. Unfortunately they didn't sell well and the Marlin was dropped after 67.

when mom visited the olds showroom with dad and saw the '59, she looked at the salesman and said, "well, it looks like they used what chrome that was left over from 1958!"

    Killer ride.
GM knocked 58 out of the park for styling. Much better than 57

1958 was the WORST year for every car and 1956 was the BEST year for them.

  26. Eh....as the owner of both a 53 bel air and a 54 210 they're extremely similar. Fenders, front bumper, splash pan and grill are the main differences. Especially if determined a bit. After I deck the 54 only way you'd be able to tell the difference between that trunk and the one on my 53 is the color. Actually quite a few parts that I kept "stock" but replaced on my 53 were actually off 54s

All this talk about 58, and not one mention of the 58 Ford, with its quad headlights and intake scoop. Then on to 59…I like 59 Fords, but they were NOT an improvement over 58. At least the 60 Ford Starliner roof got reused in 61, and on the Edsel

Chrysler products had terrific styling in 57 and 58. Pretty much the same cars both years with trim changes. The Fords of those years also looked good. GM not so much in 58 although I like the Pontiacs and Chevrolets that year. Only my opinion.

  30. I think the ‘61 Pontiac full sized line was a one year only body style.
