That had to be a rare interior in 79. Were the seats fuzzy or vinyl?

Seen a silver '69 RS today on my way home on An Arbor Trail and I was on Hines Dr... It had the black Z/28 stripes on it....

  8. The blue 69 was my high school car the black 69 was a rust free body i bought for $300 then sold to a buddy. We then burned down the garage with the car in it after we had pieced it together. I later had an ‘80 berlinetta much like this one but with the monte SS style wheels. Never had a T/A but i always liked em. 009BBE21-A841-4B3E-B2B0-D075E298396B.jpeg E281F226-9055-4501-8D6E-D6A19C5A8AED.jpeg 738DCE49-EB3F-4E73-88EB-5C46570811D2.jpeg 2CC38F06-6E9E-4846-99C5-664A4E1DF1E3.jpeg

Hell yeah! My bother drove a 79 silver formula but it had red fuzzy seats. Blue is much better.
Weirdest T/A I owned was a real SE 77 Bandit car, Hurst T-tops, all options...RED INTERIOR & WHITE SEATS! Not even the horse collar seats, the cheap ones like Camaros got. PHS documented! Rare? It could be one of one. Ugly? Oh yeah! It got black vinyl guts. Rare sometimes has nothing to do with cool or desirable.

Picture or it didn't happen. Factory black paint and what's left of the stripe kit evident. I bought it in Spokane, WA out int he valley. Never seen so many bees in a car.

One of me favorite (and in my mind criminally overlooked) movie cars is Clint's SD455 from Dazed and Confused. Best car from that movie in my opinion, and it had a lot of killer cars.

Great movie. They did a fine job of matching the cars to the owners IMO. Love the line when a very spaced Matthew McConaughey said "Hey, watch the leather, man!" referring to the vinyl seats in the SS Chevelle

They did, and if there was an Oscar for matching people to their cars, whoever was responsible for that should have won one.

That exact car in white with those blue graphics is one of my bucket list cars.

I came close a couple of years ago on one. Cheaper than a T/A, good looks, t -tops, OK performance, needs a 4 speed and posi, all options, and that spells potential for good resale prices.

Those SE Bandits I built, none of them cost me more than $3000, about another $17000 to restore them (all my work, no hire outs) and they all sold north of $40,000 in a week or less. One went for $49,000 (4 speed car). I am on the trail of another now but he wants too much.

The Z is the same car, buy a good builder for less than $5000, $20,000 all in. Have some righteous fun in it and wait for $40,000

A guy I knew in high school had this exact car with a rowdy small block, centerlines, etc. I have a soft spot for that exact combination solely based on my memories of that car.

An LS3/Tremec combo would take a t-top Disco Z over $50k possibly. It would need weld in frame connectors and mini tubs. I'm not sure I could part with it.

  30. How about some Li’l Bandit action. Design work I did for a popular TV series…
