Lotsa nice cars and people. Chatted with @Bandit Billy, @Tim_with_a_T, @1971BB427 (did you win anything at the raffle?), and several other HAMBers. Not much of an attendance at the get together near the Slo Pokes’ area at 6, but a few showed.

Bill’s ‘new’ pickup is outstanding (see the pic from @Marty Strode) and my first one.

Every frickin Wednesday, all summer long!! My phone went dead or there would be more pix. You wouldn't believe what I didn't take pictures of due to the wheels or years. I will say there was a 18,000 mile Boss 429 Mustang there. You can count on one hand how many any of you have seen in the wild. Incredible. Funny thing is, I talked to the owner and told him I saw one that color and a red one at Eldridge Motorsports when I was a teenager, over off 60th and Glisan in Portland. He said "this is the same car". Wow! Mind blown. That was 45 years ago? Time travel courtesy of Ford. I'll post a pic on the OT forum. Every Wednesday! Easily 1800 cars, likely more. Name it and it was there.

I embarrassed myself tonight when I was complimenting this car not knowing it was @Almostdone 's car.

In my defense, I have seen it before, but I swear it I thought it was black. I blame it on the paint job. Sorry buddy.

The compliment made up for it.

It was as usual for opening night a huge turnout! I occasionally went to look at the big oak tree to see if any HAMBers I knew were there, but missed the get together I guess?
I did meet "Almostdone" John when I caught him tossing raffle tickets on my front seat! :) None were winners John, but at least gave me a reason to stick around for the drawing.
Can't wait for next week and all the rest of summer!

I talked to Ron Huegli the PIR Manager last night, he informed me that they will be taking over the cruise next year, and are connecting with some major non profits, and the Wed night format will continue as it is ! I have known him since he was 8 years old and he is a racer and hot rodder as well. He did an excellent job running the World of Speed Museum, until circumstances beyond his control, led to it's closure. We are so very lucky to have this wonderful asset in our area, along with all of the money it has raised for our local children's charities. I can think of no other weekly cruise in the world, that is this big.

I parked near your car, but not knowing what you look like I didn't know how to find you. We should have worn HAMB shirts like John did. We waited around the tree and met up with a few of the guys. Great time last night. I am looking forward to the rest of summer!

We are most fortunate to have such an event every week of summer. It is like nothing else I have attended. Like one of the guys said last night "anything you want to see is here". There were stuff I could have lived without seeing  but what I saw was incredible. I am glad to hear that the future looks bright for the continuation of our show. Good band last too. Not many fiddle players out there. Nice to see you again Marty!
