I have a feeling this is gonna be a good year brother! I'm gonna hit that place with the killer omelet you're always telling me about! This year I've got Andy and Chandler coming with me, and my buddy Dave Stephens. Tell em they gonna need some extra eggs!!:D

  4. So are you racing the truck? How bad do you beat on it if you already have it sold? Hope the tri five goes your way, that is going to be a great build/revival.

No I don't race it, I register for the show and shine. Generally a couple thousand cars. I mainly go to see my buddies every year, and make new friends. The guy that wanted the truck, is the same guy that owns the shop that's working on the 3 window shoebox I posted about, backed out on buying it. He bought a late model dodge crew cab diesel from the insurance company. So I'll stick a for sale sign in it and have my buddy put it on marketplace

From this point forward, you will refer to me as award winner, because I recieved a top 10 trophy yesterday at the Kiwanis car show in West Liberty. And I told Andy that it was a compliment when they came to the rat rod truck category and said they had no entries :D

Dammit Lloyd, look what you've gone and done:(. It breaks my heart to say this about a Chevrolet, but I like it:). Now, if you could just find a reputable painter;).

No paint for this ol rig brother. I have too much respect for the fella that pulled that pinstripe by hand back in 1950! No way I'd sand his work off, it might just be the last one left that he did.

A trophy is a trophy and now your truck is worth more. Wait, maybe you could convince the buyer to maybe pay more now? :D

That buyer backed out. Had plans to throw a for sale sign in the truck, but, the more I drive it, the more I like it. I guess we'll see what happens.

I had to laugh out loud when we were standing around for the trophy presentation. There was no less than 10 new dodge challengers there, and probably 10 new jeeps, couple of new corvettes. They gave a trophy to one of the new corvettes, and I cracked up! I told my buddy that standing there, that the guy only had to spend $100k to get that $20 trophy :D:D:D:D:D

I don't like car shows because of that. I like going to see people, that's about it

Wayne came to the house today and did some carpentry work for me. He said the only bad thing about going to Bowling Green is that he will have old car fever for a couple of months. I said Lloyd will probably have a for sale sign on his truck. I told him problem solved.

Congratulations from down under! You going to change your title to “ The Award Winning Lloyd’s Paint and Glass” now? Trophy in your avatar as well? Just pulling your leg, but congrats anyway.

I have mastered the art of cooling an AD truck with a small block Chevy, and the radiator raised up. To quote Andy, it has nostrils lol... cut these holes yesterday, and the truck never got over 170⁰ idling. Runs 160⁰ down the road lol... and I put some carpet in there  see y'all in Bowling Green 20240610_111328.jpg 20240610_111422.jpg

Truck is loaded up and ready to go. I did the boiled linseed oil, not sure about it yet, hopefully it settles down some? 20240611_135543.jpg 20240611_135558.jpg Hope to see some of you this weekend, and for those not going that live close enough to make the trip, you're missing out on a good event! Get that damn car out and drive it!!

@Lloyd's paint & glass what did you wipe that truck down with? My daughter wants me use something called Poppy's Patina on her OT PU. Yours look like what I think she wants.

You must have been staring at your engine and still have the glare in your eyesight!

Lloyd said he used boiled linseed oil.
I assume he let it cool off before use;)

Straight boiled linseed oil. Should've cut it a little. It looks alright, it's just.... well.... oily lol. I read that half and half with mineral spirits works better. I didn't listen. Lol
