Technical Bronze Distributor Gear

    Marine engines usually have a reverse ground camshaft (runs in opposite direction than the crank) so the gear teeth for the distributor are LH pitched.

    Even if you were to go distributorless, what drives the oil pump in that engine?

    Dry sump $$$ , Or a external pump.
    My self I running composite and I believe I have roughly 15 K on ,,
    It would have be Nice if looking into future that they would have stamped the cam, no matter what brand was some kind of letter or number/ letting ,/identification , know what the distributor gear to use.
    I have several roller cams from the 90s to present and I can't tell you what they are, most custom grinds, that information does not stick around all the time, never thought to be dealing with something that could destroy a engine as simple as Cam gear

    Thanks for posting. I have a feeling that just like tires and shoes, different gears are for different expected use and what it's working on.
