Since we are talking memorable tune ups...
    Early 70's I'm given a tune up on a mid 60's Chevy V8.
Without looking it over I just rounded up the usual Electric parts and set to work.
When finished it idled smooth, but did not rev-up at all.
Pedal floored it ran about 2 - 2.5 grand.
Upon my reporting this to the boss,, He asked "hows the oil?"
Well the stick had black goo on it to the full mark.
    Seemed very dirty almost sludge.
Let it sit without the drain plug in it.
Installed a fresh filter. New oil...
It then then revved and ran like the small blocks we love.
    :)

We had a customer at the gas station I worked at as a teen had an old Dodge van with the slant 6. The guy brought it in for an oil change, but when I pulled the drain plug, I only got a trickle of oil about the size of the lead in a pencil. The boss was standing near by so I showed him. He though for sure the drain hole must have been plugged up with sledge. Nope. Nothing. There was less that a 1/2 quart of oil in the motor. The oil filter laid at a 90 degree angle, there was very little oil there either. We reinstalled the drain plug, spun on a new filter, and set the van back on the ground and added 5 quarts of oil, and looked for an oil leak. We replaced the oil pressure sending unit, and started the van up and hoped for the best. The lifters clattered for about 20 seconds then quieted down. The guy drove that van for several years after that, with the same motor, and never had another issue.
My luck didn't seem to work that well.

NICE! Does it have those hydraulic cylinder thingies on all 4 corners and do that jump thingy too? I'm sure the custom paint is on the schedule for soon.

Lawn Darts. They weren't designed as a recreational toy. They were designed to limit the herd. They got banned and now look at us!

A little off content but when I first started at 3M I had a work order to install a light and a switch for the light at a work station. Hung the light, ran the conduit and circuit to where the operator wanted it, all good. NOT a day or two latter the supervisor hauls me out to the installed light switch and tells me I need to replace it. Me why? He explains to me that the box needs to be solid (cast) with no knock out holes and any holes not used have to have screw in plugs. Usually only use those solid boxes in explosion proof areas or water tight areas and are fairly expensive. He tells me people will knock the knock out out and put their fingers in the box. I’m thinking we should use a lot more of these boxes - solve some problems lol

I worked as a line mechanic in a dealership , my first real job .
My work station was right next door to the service writer . Old guy comes in driving his newly purchased “ factory official “used car . It was knocking badly . Service writer , tells him start it up and run it up a little bit. Sure enough rod knock . Service writer says “ I don’t hear anything unusual ,drive it a bit , if it gets worse return .” The old guy ( my age now ) was a bit hot under the collar . He exited . You had to turn a 180* turn and go behind the building to exit . I beat feet and caught the old dude behind the building . I ask him “ do you change your own oil “? He was a bit upset and ask me “ do you think I did this ? I just purchased it !” I explained to him : I want you to do something . Go straight home , jack it up , drain all the oil into a pan . Reinstall the drain plug , and start it up , allow it to run dry on oil until it locks up , carefully pour the oil back in and call here , tell them it locked up tighter than Dick’s Hatband ! Sure enough , 2 hours later into the shop comes the car on the hook ! Owner in the passenger side , smiling ear to ear . I ask the writer “ why did you not fix it for him ? “ His reply , “ I though it would last until no warranty til it locked up “.

I was like really what an AH ! I quit , the next pay day and never looked back !

Put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator and trim it until you get a temp you like. If you are mechanically inclined you can use two pieces & a wire to slide one to adjust the temp.

That cold air intake will get you every time. You need to replace it with the hot air intake. I can fix you up.

When biodiesel was going to save the world I used to like pulling up next to someone that was burning the old french fry oil from fast food places.
