Got the rear axle dialed in at the right angle and welded the mounts.
Had a couple of old 2 inch lowering blocks with the steering tap broken of, some drilling and thread and cheap ass me could use them.
Now the rear axle is bolted in place. 20240303_113728.jpg 20240303_115223.jpg 20240303_101759.jpg 20240303_130229.jpg

Very cool project! Nice to see it coming together. (Any chance of seeing it in the Wheels meet in Haaparanta next summer?)

Made a "kickup" floor because im planning a small kickup on the frame in the future so i thought it was best to prepare the floor for it.

Some progress, got the gas tank mounted and a fuel pump/fuel lines.
Also made a battery box that i mounted in the trunk instead of the engine bay that was to tight.
Bought a new generator from https://downtoearthautoelectrics.co.uk/
These are 12V internally regulated with only two wires.
Made a bracket to fit the original mounting holes on the 265 manifold.
I had about 25 different fan belts layin around and guess what, non of them fit... 20240313_164434.jpg 20240315_195240.jpg 20240315_193700.jpg 20240315_195217.jpg

Got the gas pedal hooked up, used the original parts but moved the linkage to the drivers side.
Also got my new driveshaft and mounted it.
Connected the starter and generator so i can start the car with the original push button and also got it charging.

  15. Loving this build! Thanks so much for the updates. I’m looking forward to how you end up with the car sitting in the rear. I may need to do a similar kick up on my 40 Merc to get it to sit right and still have suspension travel.

I think it will sit quite level, its a bit low in front so i dont think it will have that taildragger stance yet.
But i really dont know, its been on jackstands for a long time...

  22. Looks and sounds great!! You might want to add a second throttle return spring though, for safety.

Mounted one rear fenders and tested a fender skirt.
Must say that a 39 convertible is a killer car. 20240616_095440.jpg

Well the 39 is now a driver, i havent updated alot here but i just bolted on the fenders and made a exhaust system and alot of small stuff to get it driving.
Still alot of stuff to do and it looks way better in photos than in real life. 453723347_3664298723880133_6835404887068384924_n.jpg 453883045_3664298677213471_2191439132512094907_n.jpg 453656332_3664298653880140_966954989511958178_n.jpg
