  3. Yep, you could put your eye out on that thing. But Anthony would most certainly drive it.

  7. I have been using biodiesel for a few years in my parts washer ( I got gallons of it for free when I worked for an engine research group). Most of it was made with beef tallow. I have the cleanest parts in town, and my parts smell like a meat store to boot!

I have lots of those that I've had for 40 years. Tube tires usually air up and hold for another year. I have run some of them until they are smooth

Just yesterday I was fixing a flat on my tractor. Patched the tube checked the onside of the tire and saw nothing. While rolling it back to the tractor I saw a bit if the tube through a split in the worn out tread. New tires will be here by Wednesday.

Having delt with all the name brand Tool trucks it’s amazing the tool companies didn’t develop metric ratchets, etc. to go along with the metric socket's all those years ago.

I’m sure my Snap-On guy would sell you a metric screwdriver if he could.

Does the metric world outside the USA have metric ratchets?

  13. Yes, they have Metric ratchets. They "click" in French.

The Snap On man rebuilt my broken Phillips screwdriver! He had a drawer full of shanks and another full of handles. If I break the handle next time, it will be all new.

I bought an axe at an antique auction that once belonged to Abe Lincoln. It has only had one new head and three new handles since Abe owned it. I still have it!

I remember trying to buy left hand drill bits. It took forever to convince the guy behind the counter that I was serious. Once he looked them up all he said was why? I told him I liked them better than easy outs.

My Snap -On dealer back in the 80’s would replace the handle or metal depending on what broke.

He rebuilt my 1/2'' drive ratchet while I waited. I had a 3/8'' drive one as well, but no guts. With only the handle and nothing else. He gave me a $40 discount on a new one of those with the ''trade in''. So it only cost $100! Wow. I saw a Craftsboy version at Lowes, it was $35.

I've got the hatchet that George Washington chopped down the cherry tree for sale if you're interested.

  21. Does that mean that right hand drill bits are "easy ins"?

no, we have 1/4", 3/8 " and 1/2" ratchets. Maybe the heavy equipment guy have bigger ones, but I´m sure they are also measured in inches.

We used to joke about metric crescent wrenches. Then several yers ago when I was stocking the tool section at a Kragen store I came across a crescent with a standard scale on one side & a metric scale on the other. o_O? Maybe use it to find the size end wrench or socket you need. Or for standard to metric conversion.

Plus the 9/32" drive sets that Snap On (and maybe others) produced for the Military. Found a Snap On 1/4" breaker bar for a dime at a yard sale. Thought I scored big time until none of my 1/4" drive stuff fit. Ended up giving it to a retired Snap On dealer for his collection.

Those metric ratchets sound like oui, oui, oui, oui, arret, arret le cretin, c'est dépouillé, le tourner plus n'aidera pas.

    ... don't ask how I know

I get tired of hearing, have a safe trip, another is Im not comfortable with that. That whole mind set drives me nuts. My thought is we wouldnt need guards on fans if people were smart enough not to stick their finger in them to see what happens. Bet you they only do it once though.
