I don't have the full story, I heard Bobby & Tyler were at Bowlin Green (they are reining Nostalgia Top Fuel Champions) and Bobby dropped the blower on his leg doing between round maintenance, his leg was shattered and before leaving in the ambulance he saw to it the engine would be back together for the next round. They operated on him that night and instead of going to a hospital room he made them take him straight back to the track where he continued to work and there's a photo of him, on crutches, still standing on the starting line as his son, Tyler, wins in the finals!
    fuk'n unbelievable!

Thanks for the link Gary, that interview with Allison Lee is incredible, all you have to do is talk to her for less than a minute and you come to realize how special she is, she has a mind like a bacon slicer, I can easily see her tuning a modern Top Fuel car.

I think the Hiltons had two top fuel cars that qualified for eliminations at BG.

Hardcore racer for sure. I had major knee reconstruction in July of 1982. With strict instruction to use crutches for a solid month. Well...3 weeks go by and I was still up in points at Riverhead, so off to the races. I wrapped the knee up tight, went into the pits with a cane. Getting in and out of the car... I needed a little help. But got into the main and finished in the top 5.

There was a bit more to the story but not my room to say! I do know Bobby was on the starting line Saturday afternoon after his surgery!
